Ever since Nick first announcedRainy Woods, I've been very interested in its prospects. With this new trailer, however, that interest has turned to a most morbid excitement. Looking like a twisted mash up between Silent Hill, Silence of the Lambs, Se7en and Twin Peaks, this could be one of the most twisted, spooky games of the new generation, and I do love twisted, spooky things.
I really hope the main character's sub-par voice acting is changed before this one hits shelves, because that's the only problem I have with this gruesome, fascinating trailer. This game all rests in how it plays, however. That's the wild card here, so I shall await more details with great relish. Rainy Woods could be the next big scare, but it won't work if the game sucks.

Meet the rest of the team
I thought this was a watersports sequel to TW2008, so I could literally piss all over Paula Creamer for 50G.
Turns out that the game looks to be interesting, and I'm starving for mature gameplay on PS3. Replaying silent hill 1 every six months is starting to get ridonculous, with the attendant eyeball prolapse and all.
This game looks to be tailor made to eat my $$. I loved condemned, and I loved silent hill (and all of the other RE/Survival Horror games), and this looks to take after parts of each.
I love shitty horror films, and I've been hoping for some "so bad they're good" horror games. So even if this is a stinker, it might be a winner in the unintentional humor category.
game has the potential, and im looking for a game that will bring that suspense scare, it's been a long time since condemned :) but jim is right they better get the voice overs right, it reminds me of old sega days.
That really couldn't possibly be any more of a rip off of twin peaks, at all. Not that I've got a problem with that, twin peaks is awesome. Too bad the midgets don't backwards talk. Kcor s'tel!
I'm quite a Twin Peaks fan and I'd not seen any game come close to capturing the atmosphere up to this point. This looks like it's going to be fun. Here's hoping for another Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy-style joy-fest!
Those REDRUM midget-twins are cool. The end of the trailer was a bit reminiscent of Final Fantasy VIII with the whole Eyes on Me thing going on, also a nice change of pace from the action violence of this season.
But, why am I still getting this PG-13 horror vibe from it? I'm hoping for a The Shining, but there's also some shades of every other shitty PG13 Hollywood horror movie.
This trailer totally reminded me of Illbleed. Did anyone ever play that? That game was completely EFFED. There does also seem to be a David Lynch vibe; the club scene at the end specifically seemed reminiscent of Mulholland Drive...
Sort this out for us, please. This IS a PS2 game, right? I mean, the graphics are MAYBE on par with the last Silent Hill game. MAYBE.
Also, let's not forget that about 99% of "scary" genre games end up sucking HARD. Why give THIS one the benefit of the doubt? It currently just looks messed up for the sake of being messed up, and with horrible voice acting, graphics, and facial animation to boot.
Seriously though, "little people" with bobble-heads make the game seem like more of a ripoff than a good idea. I'm surprised they weren't speaking in backwards talk about a red ROOM instead of a red TREE.
"Well Diane, though a little underwhelming in the looks department...seems to be a damn fine homage. That's homage read: R-I-P-O-F-F. I am intrigued by that fella's voice...hmmm."
i actually don't mind the Twin Peaks robbery since that will only make the game more awesome, and nothing makes me happier than picturing David Lynch sitting down to play it legs crossed Indian style.
As much as I LOVE Twin Peaks and LOVE the early Silent Hill games, I must say, this looks...well...like crap. And I am NOT talking about the graphics. I mean, I still think the first SH game is great after all.
This is just way too derivative of its obvious inspirations. And "Rainy" is a really stupid stupid word. The game looks slapped together and shallow. But then again maybe it's just a really bad trailer?
I honestly don't give a shit about the graphics, so, based on everything else shown in the trailer, I'm kind of excited about this one. The main thing I'm curious about, however, is how do you PLAY it?
Newsflash, you are all graphics whores. This is still on par with something like Dead Rising graphically.
And the mood seems very cool, though it gets all disjointed and weird at the end, like they cut the trailer wrong. Need to see how it plays to judge more. Since Alan Wake is still coming, right?

Someone took some bad LSD & made a PS3 Game!
Graphics look PS2'ish...

I love the "spoooky" feel or whatever and scary, horror is good.
But this looks hideous. If they don't fix the graphics, I can't/won't play it and I am FAR from a graphics whore.

eertder...that makes no sense.
Please come out on PC, kthxbi.

Too soon to tell I think.
