The newest trailer for RE:UC shows Chris and Jill preparing to jump into a new adventure. Hopefully, this turns out to me more than just a cinematic and is a new level. The trailer then goes on to show scenes and characters from Resident Evil 0, 1 and 3. Oddly enough, no mention of anything from Resident Evil 2 yet again. The trailer also goes on to show a Tyrant, Nemesis and good old Albert Wesker. All in all, this got me interested in the game again.
GameIndustry also got word on the price and release for RE:UC. It will be out November 13th and will retail for $49.95. Sounds a tad bit too high for a rehash/on rails game to me.
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

There is going to be plenty new about it as well. It seems like most people don't realise that this is actually about the death of Umbrella. First they recap all of the other Resident Evil games and then the new stuff happens that shows the end of Umbrella before the happenings in Resident Evil 4.
50 bucks sounds about right. I loved House of the Dead to death in the arcades and on the xbox1, I'm sure I'll enjoy this one too. That, and I never cared for the early Resident Evil's, so I'm good!
As time goes by, I more fully accept the decision to make this an on rails shooter and not a classic RE4 style game.
This is a gateway game to those who never liked RE before. Anyone can play an onrails shooter, not everyone can play RE4.
But once you get good at this game, the RE2 remake for the Wii that I would bet dollars to donuts is released next year will seem all the less intimidating.
That trailer makes me kinda want this. $50 is a bit steep I agree though, $30 and I would nab this no questions asked. I like the house of the dead games but they get old somewhat quick, even with thousands of unlockables, their just the same game :(
I'm still kinda iffy on this. I prefer my light-gun games with... you know... a light-gun. I accepted (nay, EMBRACED) the use of the Wii remote for RE4 because it was more of a survival-horror type genre rather than an on rails shooter, but I'm not sure I would enjoy it as much with Umbrella Chronicles.
However, I may have to at least rent it, if not for anything but the story. Seeing Jill and Chris working together again is too much for me to pass up.
I'm a big resident evil fan( I've been playing the games since I was eight) and when I first heard about this I was dissapointed. Yet somehow with each trailer I want it more and dislike it less. And with this last one, I am definitely gonna buy it. Nemesis is back and more badass then ever, anything involving code veronica is nowhere to be found, and actually has a new part of the story( instead of being nothing but collaborated remakes of all the games). Now they just have to do away with Resi 0 and i'll be happy.
First off, I'm suprised no one mentioned the strange scene with Jill looking like she might end up getting gangraped or something. Did no one else notice this?
Second, RE is one of several game series that I love so much that I'll buy every game, or at least play, in the series. RE, SH, Wild Arms, and Zelda are a few of the series. So, yea, I'll be getting this, as well as that Link's Crossbow Training game, I won't think twice.
I've only played one of the RE games, once, for like 10 minutes, so I don't have any real experience with the series. I will say, though, that this game looks fun, and using the Wii Zapper could make it even more so.
I disagree on the full price bit. While it may be rehashing and retelling things from a new perspective for the most part, bear in mind that it IS an entirely new game, built from the ground up. In that regard, $50 is reasonable. If it was just an enhanced port or something, $30 would be more appropriate, but you can't expect them not to charge full price just because it retells old stories as part of the gameplay.
Beyond the price point being a little steep, the important thing is that it's a Resident Evil game that's all that matters to me. I would get it even if just to tide me over until the real RE game we all care about RE 5 oh Chris Redfield's return FTW!!
This completely reeks of House of the Dead. There are scenes I saw there which looked to be just plain lifted from HoD 3.
I won't be getting it, I really don't understand how Capcom can release something like this when they have the success of RE 4 Wii edition to go off of.

Secondly, Albert Wesker is still a legend.
Thirdly, I want this game. I don't care who says it's bad.

I bet she smokes a lot of pot.

I hope it happens, I don't wanna buy a Wii for one game.
I'm going to scream like the baby I am while playing it, and probably die of a stroke... but at least it'll be a fun way to go.

'Specially after new level.
If you had zombies coming after you, you'd be hitting the doobies too.

Do you mean the part where Jill was in an alley surrounded by zombies? I thought they wanted to eat her, not rape her.
