A very short video showing off Eye of Judgment's so-ridiculous-it's-awesome gameplay. I'm not sure what anybody else thinks about this sordid Yu-Gi-Oh brought to life, but I have to say that it's the PlayStation 3 game I care most about at the moment right next to Metal Gear Solid 4, if that remains exclus ... oh wait, let's not bring that up.
Whether you think it's a silly gimmick or an amazing piece of technology, there's no denying that EoJ is at least very different, and a definite move forward for the PS3. Rather than copy the Wii's waggle with the SIXAXIS or turning the PlayStation Network into Xbox Live, this is something the PlayStation 3 does that its rivals have not done, and that's a good thing. It's part videogame, part toy, part card game. If this title fails, I will be very surprised indeed because it has "cash cow" written all over it.
Just imagine when they start selling booster packs of cards.

games looks like a ton of fun, but as for being a cash cow I'm not quite sure. Whats going to stop people from just scanning the cards and printing them out for themselves. Get some heavy paper, and decent printer and print yourself up some double sided cards and I don't think anyone will be able to notice the difference when playing over the net.
Now now... haven't you guys seen any of the other videos that came out using the EyeToy? The Marble Madness clone, the pikmen using your hands to pick men clone... there were a couple interesting games...
Motion tracked games that don't require waggling a wand... deform terrain in game using your arms... perhaps even eventually deep immersion games that have you using your hands to represent what shows on screen, firing FPS guns using your right hand, tossing grenades with your left. Or just tracking the way your body is leaning to "assist" with your aiming in warhawk, not as part of the game, but as an assistive UI.
This "toy" has way too much potential to be regaled to being used simply for a card game. The card game should be seen as just a tech demo of what else is coming your way for this peripheral, like Link's Crossbow training for the Wii, but instead of being a 20$ hunk of plastic, it's going to be a 50 - 100$ camera, which I think, with enough development behind it, could be worth it, and then some.
