Earlier today when we revealed Dead Rising 2's new multiplayer mode "Terror is Reality" -- including one game where you put blenders on zombie heads -- reactions were mixed.

Get it!? "Mixed"!?

As awesome all of this sounds in words on the Internet, putting blender hats on zombies before chopping and dicing them really must be seen to be fully appreciated. The mini-game, called "Headache," is part of the larger "Terror is Reality" multiplayer mode we played in Japan today. Click to video to see the ridiculous action in all of its glory.

I wasn't that impressed with the first game, it just didn't hold my interest very long. This new one keeps catching my attention though, looks like it might be really good.

I got bored with the first one quickly. This, however, looks to make that an impossibility as far as the sequel is concerned.

God. Dead Rising was incredible. This definitely looks like a worthy sequel! They haven't shown much either! I'm EXCITED! I hope Frank is an unlockable character or something. That'd be too good!

I adored the first one. This one looks like it's trying really hard to up the ante.

I skipped the first one but i'm seriously thinking about this one.
Looks more polished and solved some of the annoying part of DR, plus, it has one gazillion zombies in it.

This mode looks like it could maybe be fun for 5 minutes, and I'm not even sure about that.

@HiddenAHB

So you skipped it but thought DR1 has annoying parts? What?
Form your own opinions. Don't let other dictate theirs to you.

One of my problems with the original Dead Rising was that it played more like a game show than a survival horror game. The zombies were almost totally harmless, and the only thing that ever killed me was the time limit.

Looks like the creators of Dead Rising 2 have embraced that weakness and are turning it into a strength. That's something worth getting excited about.

The key to the first DR, were the dual mini chainsaws with the power up books, once you got those it was game over. Game was still awsome though, definitely a tough game to beat.
