As always, Koei has plenty of stuff going on at the Tokyo Game Show and as always, it's left to me to post about it. Here's a fresh new trailer for Koei Canada's Warriors: Legends of Troy. This new direction for Koei's long-running Warriors franchise is being designed specifically to appeal to the West. What we have for you is an undeniably Western trailer, complete with a ludicrously deep voice saying needlessly dramatic things.

I'm eager to see some real gameplay for this title, however. I'm sold on the concept, and am looking forward to a truly gory and brutal hack n' slash game, but let me see the thing in action. Or better yet, play it (hint hint, Koei). In the meantime, here are some assets for you to gawk at. Enjoy!

Finally Koei hits up the "300" fan market.

I usually try to say positive things, but man, that narration was horrible.

THIS IS MY HEAVY ANNOUNCER VOICE. I DON'T DO THIS FOR A LIVING, CAN YOU TELL?

The visuals were heavily reminiscent of 300... I'm assuming that was intentional. Now that I think about it, the first trailer I saw for this game featured similar (or the same) footage. What all did they add? Just the narration?

Oh well; I'm a slave to the Dynasty Warriors series, so I'll probably pick this up, eventually.

Appeal to the west? No, no, no. Half the appeal to the west is the eastern appeal.

I watched the movie Troy last night, and couldn't help but make unfair comparisons to 300, LOTR, Hulk, etc. etc.

So, this did nothing for my opinion of the game.

Gameplay footage or GTFO.

While the video was loading, I was thinking over and over

"Please be like Viking: Battle for Asgard,
Please be like Viking: Battle for Asgard,
Please be like Viking: Battle for Asgard..."

After watching the trailer... I still don't know if it is or not. Crossing my fingers.

Oh and the narrator was hilariously bad.

P.S. Viking: Battle for Asgard was a good game, shut up.

Viking was a good game but Spartan: Total Warrior on the PS2 was better, I dream of the day when someone melds Spartan/Viking massive combat badass-ary with a Diablo like epic RPG storyline.

That was one bad narrator, but man oh man am I excited for this game!
I've been saying for years that the Warriors series needs to expand into more era's!

Oh, and I also thought Viking was a great game (if a little easy)

That was pretty terrible. But if this is a Dynasty Warriors game with Trojan War characters, I'm FOR IT!

Gimme Aeneas or whatever..

I am a big "Dynasty Warriors" fan and a big "God of War" fan.
I hope, this game will be not similar like Dynasty Warriors.
I hope this game will be a mix of "Dynasty Warriors" , "Spartan Total Warrior" and "God of War".

In this game, there will be also mythological creatures, monsters and Cyclopes, similar like in the game "God of War".
Here are some images from the mythological creatures in "Warriors Legends of Troy":

A couple years too late, but I still think it'll do really well. I'm trusting Koei to pull this off, especially since they still have most of Team Ninja there.
