Tokyo Game Show is this week, so you can expect plenty of Moonspeak trailers this week. One of the first to hit is from tri-Ace, with a brand new video promoting Resonance of Fate. This Sega-published RPG is a steampunk adventure said to be a little different from the norm. I don't know about any of that, but the music's really cool.
We'll see how it goes. I'm still yet to ever be impressed by tri-Ace, so we'll see if the guns and machines mask yet another "paint-by-numbers" RPG full of the same emo characters and save-the-world tropes. I'll certainly keep an open mind and give it a chance. That trailer really does look quite interesting.

Why would a steampunk game have streamlined guns? They should be big hefty and have valves and gears. Also Im getting tired of this steam punk surge faster then the zombie one, mostlly because we aren't seeing any good games.
This looks interesting enough, but I really hope Mistwalker has a presence at TGS. I just started playing through Lost Odyssey, and it is the best example of a well-made JRPG I have seen this generation.
This looks fantastic. I love the clothing designs and setting of Resonance of Fate. Does anyone else get a Romeo + Juliet vibe from this game or is it just me? I feel like I'm looking at a modernization of a Shakespeare play whenever I see anything regarding this game.

not related but i was thinking kingdom hearts hasn't been shown anywhere because there sony microsoft and nintendo are battling each other for exclusivety rights. that game will push consoles quick and he who holds it, wins.
yeah, sounds kinda silly i know. but there is a reason SE didn't want to touch it and let sega get ahold of it. i ain't the biggest tri ace fan myself.
I was excited for this game. Now, I'm interested in it, but the trailer makes it look pretty cookie cutter. Cookie cutter isn't always bad for an RPG, but it definitely needs to be cut right. I'm sure that I'll buy this when it comes out. The question is: will it have been worth the money? Time will tell.
Being the RPG fan that I am, I was mildly interested in this...until I watched that video. Bored me to tears. Maybe some gameplay footage will change my mind.

Because if there's one thing Square Enix avoids like the plague, it's RPG cliche's, right?
Have you played Radiata Stories?
Who knows though, maybe it will play amazing.
Regardless, I'm still looking forward to it. I love the setting, the character designs...it's all pretty awesome.
So , the only JRPG we are getting for xbox360 is this one and Star Ocean:TLH??? Sad!
