Quantcast

As I try not to let myself get too excited for big budget Square-Enix games lately, I haven't really been following Nier: Gestalt. The above trailer has successfully demolished that stance. It's simply packed full of way too many awsome things to not have completely grabbed my attention.

Among those things are a spooky atmosphere, a few hundred gallons of blood, a robot, magic circles, scary monsters, and blades as far as the eye can see. Oh, and also a pretty girl in an assless, underboob-displaying babydoll dress, dual-weilding giant saws. That happened.

It's all set to appropriately epic music and is a fine piece of production on the whole. If the actual game lives up to the incredible badassery of its trailer, my wallet is in even more trouble than it already was for 2010. That's assuming it comes stateside not too long after its Japanese release, of course. This just went from "don't care" to one of my most anticipated titles of next year in a matter of seconds. Simply gorgeous.

I was skeptical about this one, because the first trailer made it look a bit generic. I'm glad to say, after watching this much better second cut, I'm warming to it more.

Again, another Square Enix game I'm more interested in. I love a good action game and will indulge in 2010. I'm getting the feeling that Square will be selling a lot more product next financial year, especially after Batman AA too.

I haven't been keeping up with this either but after watching that, I only hope it turns out to be really good.

The girl is pretty. If you pause it when she first shows up you can see underboob. And if you pause it again when she attacks the monster, you can see her panties and her butt.

This is my new favorite game.

So, the Gestalt is the Round Eye version?

They really should give here some warm clothes, otherwise she'll just pull an Aeris and die of pneumonia 60% into the story.

It's looking pretty nice... I wonder if we'll see anything on Replicant as well.

I was pretty skeptical of this at first, but it's looking much better now.

But I'm getting Replicant if I get either version, anyways. I like my protagonists as androgynous teenagers and my women to have penises.

This is awesome, but I think I'm a bit more stoked for Replicant. I have to get a PS3 now.

I think Topher should go outside more. :)

I'm gonna need to increase my games budget for 2010.

Oh, I like how the guy is fighting for his daughter instead of the world. I think that brings the main characters motivations a little closer to home. Games often tell you to save the world for no reason other than its the world and it needs to be saved. Saving your child is much more compelling to me because its more Personal.

Also, this video got me pumped. I want to play this. Who made the music? I want it.

Topher: I think the Trap might only be in Replicant. But I agree it would change nothing...well it would actually be a little hotter if she was a trap...

Well, what Famitsu said was what she "took on male characteristics after being possessed."

It might be that it's a dude in a lady's body. Either way, don't care. She pretty.

Topher, we had this discussion before on here, I think. Isn't there a trap in this game?

This seems like a strange comparison to make, but the effects remind me a lot of Prototype.

I hope we get a demo to try it out first, but this game is looking like it could be a good bit of fun.
