We heard there was going to be a brand new story in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles and Capcom has finally showed the new section off. The new story sees Leon Kennedy and Jack Krauser working together on a mission in South America. Something has happened to the town and it's soon apparent that the T-Virus was set loose on the poor villagers.

Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil Code: Veronica and now this? Darkside Chronicles is shaping up to be worth the price. Check out the new screens and the two new trailers showing off a good chunk of the new mission with Leon and Krauser below.

Nothing they do could get me to play an on-rails shooter, but for a Wii game that looks pretty ace.

I just got RE5 myself the other day when it released on PC and I have to say, excellent game. I hope more like it are in the pipeline.

How come you don't like on-rails shooters? It's like the arcade in your house!

Ah, I saw a report the other day that highlighted the lack of Latino characters in video games. Guess the South American Zombies in RE:DC is Capcom's characteristically controversial way of taking care of that problem...

I hate railers. I wish they'd give RE the love. RE4 controls, third person view, and RE5 ported in on the RE4 engine. I'm in!

@ Demiath

If by controversial you mean there will be a lot of South Americans in South America, I bet you're right.

Cool how they are filling in the back story. I wasn't really up on my RE history when I played 4. It felt like Krauser was a returning character who I had no idea about.

Good to see that tidbit filled in. It would be funny if they worked in the content from RE: Dead Aim and RE: Gun Survivor, since those were (crappy) light-gun games to begin with.

The Capcom rep was telling me about there being a 3rd campaign being announced at TGS but honestly, wasn't this in the trailers? Or at least the footage that played before the title screen on the actual PAX demo?

Also, this game is pretty awesome from what I've played.

100% agreed! (and you don't need to pay extra money when you die!!!)
Even though I don't have a Wii , I bought RE:UC to play at my friend's home. But I haven't try House of the Dead:Overkill yet.
