Koei Tecmo has teased a new game at the Tokyo Game Show, and while the teaser may very well be one of the lamest of all time, the name attached to it, Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) has gotten people talking. This is personally a new one to me, but many fans are excited for a sequel to some PS2 fighter that apparently was rather great.
So, people are quite eager to find out if this is heading Westard, and for those people I will definitely keep an ear to the ground and find out what's up. Does this game mean anything to you? Please explain it to the nice boys and girls if it does.

Meet the rest of the team
Also the last HnK game was an Arc System Works game, with Tecmo/Koei this might be a third person action game. Though I suppose Tecmo has DoA... but meh. The source material lends itself to either type of game. I'd prefer a God Hand like HnK game myself.
Hokuto No Ken just had a very long and somewhat confusing plot haha. I hope this comes out for the PS3. ^_^ I'll import this baby. Already have all the epiosodes and the movie on DVD.
Hokuto no Ken games are a dime a dozen. There have been so many made it's hard to keep track of them all but the recent fighter was one of the good few.
Jim. I am sincerely sad for you that you do not know of Hokuto no Ken manga/anime.
That's what most Asian kids grew up with. It was the definition of being a MAN (in post apocalyptic world with insane violence that kind of silly now that you look at it).
I mean sure you have your fill of Manliness growing up around hell's angels, but I'm sure this is much less scarring and much more awesome.
grisser: and the French and Italian! They appreciate classic titles so much more because they aired on their tv sets. While the US got crappy and limited titles like... Ronin Warriors?
It's just a 2D fighting game really. There's so many 2D fighting games in Japanese arcades, they're really popular. I doubt it's gonna be genre defining at all. More like those pachinko slot machines where there's millions of them and the main reason you play one specifically is for the characters in it. Fist of the North Star is big franchise still.
Love the series and I hope the game is going to be F'in sweet. I haven't played a home console version of a FotNS game yet other than that punching FotNS arcade game.
YEAH! I've been waiting for a Hokuto no Ken game for an eternity. Seriously, it annoys me like hell that no brawler has been made that even scratched the surface of the potential the series has.
The ArcSystems fighting game was pretty cool, but it was a little too broken for my liking. It did introduce some cool elements, like the seven star ultimate attack thing, but it was just nice, as far as I can say.
An adventure beat-em-up, now THAT would be incredible. The gameplay possibilities are incredible, given how far the genre has evolved with God of War and games alike.
Finally, a HnK game that actually feels epic! I didn't think all those games before could properly depict the post-apocalyptic environment the series is know for.

I still have to import the PS2 Arc game, and a recent one that hit PSP.
If there's one game that needs to be on XBLA, its Arc's System's Fist game.
No wonder he talks like a teenage girl.
What I meant was I had no idea what the game was.
Almost ruined by Japanese characters throwing themselves at me.
BATTLE 1
DECIDE THE DESTINY!

I always thought the phrase "Don't blink or you'll miss it" was just one of those silly-but-effective-hyperbole turns of phrase but now I know better.
FUCK YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
YOU'RE ALREADY RELEASED
Awesome! I hope it's some crazy Ninja Gaiden style game and not another fighter.
Also, this just reminded me, does anyone know where I can find the new OVAs?
I think I came. brb.
