TGS 09: Home coming to PSP as 'PlayStation Room' photo

Yep, seriously.

Apparently this news was so mindblowing that nearly everybody in the world managed to miss it when it was announced during Sony's TGS keynote. Maybe it was so amazing and thrilling that everybody's brains imploded trying to comprehend such beauty and wonder. What I'm sarcastically trying to tell you is that a new form of PlayStation Home is coming to the PSP.

No more will you have to be thethered to your couch when enjoying the thrill of the poor man's Second Life. PlayStation Room is a new service coming to the PSP in a Winter firmware update, where players can communicate to each other and personalzie their own avatars. It's stylistically quite different from Home, with avatars no longer looking like creepy living mannequins and instead now resembling Bratz Dolls.

I have no idea what to make of this.

Beat that, DS. Where's your land of shameless retards with no friends? Where?

What PreacherMan89 said.

Seriously, I only went in Home once to check it out, and that's not so bad since it's on a HOME console, but I wouldn't play my PSP just to live a second life. I'm guessing it's just Sony trying to connect with women and kids since the PSP is quite lacking in games targeted to women.

Is it a mandatory firmware update? It seems like it would take up a fair amount of space.

W....wha...seriously? I'm uhh...surprised. I bet I'll play this as much as I play the existing Home. I'll give you one guess how much that is.

Nice but WTF? I don't give a stuff about this. What's more important to me, is them getting off their asses, and giving us PSP Trophy support, that can link to your PSN account.

If they don't get on it, I'm sure that MS are more likely to include achievement support, once games like Crackdown 2 and PGR start hitting Zune HD.

As retarded as this sounds, Sony would not be doing this if there was no or if they feel there would be not financial gain in giving the PSP and PS3 these features. What would be kool is if they link the 2 somehow. I really dont like home, but Im all for the idea of it, I think eventually it can help strengthen an online community.

Ooooooh. I was reading this on IGN's liveblog (I was really bored today >_>) and I thought that it was going to be a new room in the current Home where users could go and mingle to find people to play online with. This could turn out to be interesting.

Still like my idea better though....

Pretty cool. I wish it actually looked like a downgraded home though.

But can you Quincy people in Animal Crossing?

This is already infinitely better than home. Those graphics (while stylistically questionable with that much Bratz influence) are multiple times better than Home's and because you can't go anywhere you won't have to put up with the worst run animation ever put on a console.

great girls who bought the Hannah Montana PSP bundle can get stalked as much as girls on Home. But seriously we can blame the Wii's Miis for this crap :)

Line up the executives, and get a truck-bed golf cart.
I feel the urge to drive-by dickslap some Sony employees.

Uh huh. I admire Sony's fortitude, but I don't think I'll be trading my custom firmware in to stand in virtual lines for virtual bowling just yet.

I think the game is impossible to beat without help, thats my primary complaint. I had to google some walk-throughs and videos, then took notes, and then - quite frankly I had a lot of fun with Crimson Room, particularly the green room and the skeleton (I think it was the green room), and I still have several rooms yet to beat so, a fun edition to my library.
