TGS 09: Gran Turismo 5 hitting Japan in March photo

Well, it's about damn time. Sony revealed during their second press conference of the day that Gran Turismo 5 finally has a solid release date. It will be out in March 2010 in Japan and, well, that's all that was revealed about that.

No word on a American or European release date, pricing, or anything else that I could have used to fill up this post so it doesn't look so small.

Yup.

The other day my great-grandfather walked by and said "What the fuck boy, you're still playin' that goddamn game?!?!".

I was playing GT4.

My god it looks stunning. But I'm not biting this time. Or maybe I will. You know what? I'll wait for the reviews. But it does look great.

No, you guys misinterpreted this announcement. What they really said was that they would announce how much longer the game will be delayed for in March 2010.

It pisses me off that it's not unreasonable to think it could be as far off as Christmas 2010 for getting this title in the US, assuming I don't just import it. Honestly, I've kind of lost my juju for it since GT PSP, which is an abomination. Seriously, why didn't they just put the original fucking Gran Turismo on PSP, polish the graphics a bit, and call it a day. I seriously can't think of a worse racer on the PSP, and for all the fluff they talking about it, I just cringe to think what they'll be doing to the full blown PS3 version. That last footage they showed with the "damage" modeling, if you can even call it that, doesn't help my outlook.

After playing Prologue, I believe I'll wait for confirmation of quality, thank you very much. I won't be fooled twice.

I knew it said "Prologue" on the box, but it didin't hold me like 2/3/4 did.
