It's a dreary Monday morning, but I know what will brighten it up. A great, big, melodramatic Final Fantasy XIII trailer from the Tokyo Game Show. Square Enix has now released the video to the public, so make sure you check out the hotness. It's very hot indeed.
JRPG nerds will be very happy with what they see in this seven-minute extravaganza. Japanese music, lots of swords, and ridiculous summons that transform into fire cars. Now that the game is finally approaching some sort of release, I must say I'm getting quite excited. Hopefully it'll be a badass RPG, something that consoles have lacked for a long time now.

Anyone else disturbed by how the hair on Snow Villier's nose sits perfectly in place despite all of his movement? What swill! Makes me sick. The game still looks cheesy as hell. Still looks fun to play for some laughs.
Looks like every character is depressed about something. Also, what's with the Dead Space armour for all the soldiers?
The graphics might be great, and I like every other FF, but this one takes the biscuit and looks over the top and I'm not a fan of the super duper future technology or the battle system now I've finally seen it. Think this trailer has made my mind up about the game.
Uh oh, someone better call Fox News. This game encourages pedophilia and there's only one news network than can reveal the truth. BAN THIS SICK FILTH!!
Also, one of the character's names might be Lucy. My year of Japanese has only proved to confuse me as I can only pick out words such as "protect" and "human."
It looks better than any CG I've ever seen, but that's Square for ya. Opposedly, it looks like it might get so caught up in plot that the game itself may be the worse for it. If it turns out like Lost Odyssey, which had a large, subpar plot to go along with a lot of amazing gameplay, then FF might have made a very generic game. Then again, it is FF, and people will love it just because it's a safe game to love.
I dunno man, for some reason, my first impression was that they were siblings. So the whole kiss became a really strange even at the instant it happend. Not to mention the creepy age difference.
If Sarah survives this game, I will be shocked as all hell. That girl just as "Aeris Syndrome" written all over her. It would be a huge plot twist if she DOESN'T die.
And yeah, someone needs to get on translating this real fast. This trailer has now made me officially excited for FFXIII, as opposed to just "looking forward to it".
Am I the only one that see's the extreme difference in character proportions in the above image? Snow's hand is bigger than that chicks head! She must be a child or something.
This looks really incredible. (I know I'll get murdered for saying this, but..) I've never been into the FF series at all, but this one looks like it might make me wanna play. And what were those things that look like living AT-ATs from Star Wars? Haha.
I dunno, she definitely called him her brother, but I'm not an expert on japanese culture so it could be a sign of affection kind of thing. I doubt they're actually brother and sister, there isn't much resemblance.
Hopefully Lightning is slightly more interesting than the average anime protagonist. Telling the kid to run away is super cliché, and obviously he stays and fights.

Umm... People in Japan can refer to non-family members as "brother" and "sister" and a bunch of other terms. Some words can have more than one meaning, you know.
Also, GOD DAMMIT! Why do they always have to shoehorn in a J-Pop song? WHY GOD, WHY?!?
Still, game looks pretty good. We'll just see if they fall into the dreaded pit of cliches that consumes nearly all Japanese dramas.
So she calls him older brother and he calls her younger sister and then they kiss?! WTF is that all about?
I do hope they include the japanese voices with english subtitles!
English voice tracks usually suck pretty bad.
