TGS 09: Crackdown 2 images have monsters, agility orbs photo

Crackdown 2 looks like Crackdown with zombies tacked on. That’s not a slight: it has been proven -- scientifically, I might add -- that zombies and other weirdo monsters are cooler than bands of brigands. Don’t believe us? Take a look at the images below. The drool on your chin is a case in point.

By the way, Microsoft is doing its TGS thing and these images of the upcoming open-world-action-survival-horror-RPG-BBQ title have been made available. Aside from monsters, you’ll see an explosion as well as some Agility Orbs in the gallery below. It's tasty stuff if you're down for more Crackdown.

Crackdown 2 is still TBD.

I am so confused. Was the original Crackdown this...odd? I thought it was just cops and robbers.

Glad to see they've upped the ante as far as insanity is concerned.

I had a weekend of moderate fun with the first Crackdown, and I expect that I'll be in the same situation with the sequel.

Another grim hooded guy? This trend is getting old.

First Altair, then the Hunters from Left 4 Dead, and later the protagonist from [PROTOTYPE]

Can't wait to play it. Loved playing two-played co-op in the first. Four player co-op is gonna be awesome.

Also, those are mutants, not zombies. Although the lower level infected are the equivilent of zombies. The more powerful ones are almost on par with a full-level agent, according to the Game Informer cover story; which is something I wanted in the first one.

While I'm not feeling that excited about the zombies right now, if they turn out to be, for example, produced by the gangs to sew chaos rather than another 'military experiment gone wonky', it could be all right. Don't be hating, is all I'm saying.

Awesome. I'm down. Though according to Game INformer it's going to be the same city from the first game updated for the current situation, you know, with the zombies and the civil rebellion. Good thing I played the shit out of the first one.

Well this has 4 player Co-Op right - putting it Wayyyy above Prototype plus you know...drivable cars...I sure hope the transforming cars make a return. Along with Saint's Row 2, Crackdown is the the best sandbox this generation (with Prototype and Red Faction trailing behind).

Monodi : er, isn't the hooded guy being pwned?

Anyway, video game philosophy indicates that you do not let player see cannon fodder's face, thus dehumanizing them(and saves memory for separate faces)

Wasn't there genetic experiments gone wrong in the first one too? Albeit only for a short amount of time?

@Monodi: "Another grim hooded guy? This trend is getting old. First Altair, then the Hunters from Left 4 Dead, and later the protagonist from [PROTOTYPE]"

The protagonist isn't the hooded guy, it's the Super Soldier that just landed at that site from 300 meters up and splattered that hooded punk and thus, is getting those yellow strength orbs. GOSH.

Also: Thank all you newbs who only bought Crackdown for the Gaylo3 Beta. You paid for my Crackdown sequel! :) ... /sad-day-for-gaming

Translation: Crackdown 2 = some of the best co-op evr. Need moar Crackdown 2 plz.

Zombie fatigue aside, this could turn out great. The enemies were way under-powered in the first one, so I'd like to see more challenging dudes to take down.

Did everyone else forget the stupid "twist" ending to the first game? Is that just being pushed aside like it never happened?

"Crackdown 2 looks like Crackdown with zombies tacked on."
The mutants were already in Crackdown. Terrible analogy. Terrible misinformation.

Beyamor, GOOD NEWS! The mutants were created by one of the gangs in Crackdown and were released upon killing the gang leader that created them. The Agency did fund gangs but I don't think the mutants were a military experiment gone wonky. Either the Agency knew the mutants would be released or it wasn't involved at all.

Char Aznable, the "twist" has caused all the civilians to form a group called The Cell and revolt against the Agency. I guess the player will still be trying to clean the streets, even if it is for a corrupt Agency.

MCChampaignMillionaire, nothing.
