Unless you're a serious fan and follower of videogame music, you might not know of the name Zuntata right off hand. But there is a pretty good chance you've heard of their work.

Zuntata is the name of Taito's in-house sound team. This band has scored many games, including the Darius shoot-em-ups, the Ray series of titles, and even Bubble Bobble, not to mention a huge number of albums. The group appeared live at the 2008 Tokyo Game Show on the first public day. They had a live stage set up at Taito's booth on the show floor, where they rocked out with new work and a medley of past hits.

The band played for a crowd of eager game music nerds on synths, keytar, guitar, and bass, while the rest of the show attendees looked on and wondered what the hell was going on. We managed to capture the opening set of their performance in the video above. These guys rock live.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
