Okay, if you say you saw this coming, you are a liar. The first No More Heroes was a bizarre, post-modern, blood-bath of a GTA parody. It sold pretty poorly in Japan, and adequately in the United States and Europe, but far below the sales of original IPs on the 360 like Assassin's Creed and Dead Rising. Few expected the game to get a sequel; even less thought it would be on the Wii -- but here it is, the teaser trailer for No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle, thus far a Wii exclusive.

From the looks of it, this follow-up will at least have one amazing boss. That crazy, flying electric woman looks completely awesome. As a huge fan of the first game, I have high hopes that this sequel will both fix the issues of the original (boring over-world, Dreamcast-quality graphics) while retaining all the things that still made it worth playing (bosses even weirder than those in the Metal Gear Solid games, well-implemented motion controls, lightsaber decapitations).

Even if this game turns out to be crap, my mind is still blown. All I need now is the announcement of Zack & Wiki 2: Kill You with my Monkey Bell, and I'm going to have to see a shrink just to make sure I'm not hallucinating.

Now I feel less bad for not buying the first one. Still waiting for that $20, I'm a poor chap.

The subtitle makes it sound like a DS game, especially without throwing in a "2". Either way I'm wanting!

@Jonathan Holmes:
What I meant is that I'm writing a case against it.

Also let's not forget that after the credits it was explicitly mentioned that there wasn't going to be a sequel.

Well, I need a pile of napkins and a new computer monitor. This manjam is all over the goddamn place. NMH is easily the best Wii game to come out this year (Brawl got old fast and Mario Kart was nothing special), and had an absolutely fantastic ending. I can't wait to see the story of Travis continued. I'm actually hoping the game is just one massive boss fight between Travis and Henry...the ending made it look like that was a real possibility.

Also, Dr. Nick died in the Simpson's movie. He was in the last episode.

Also, Aeon Flux always died at the end of the first season of episodes.

Welcome to Po-Mo

EXCELLENT. I am actually playing through NMH right now, so I am way pumped at the thought of a sequel. However, while playing NMH, I can't help but imagine the beauty that Suda could make with some more horsepower behind the game.

THANK GOD!!! That ending, while bad ass, was a huge cliffhanger.

OH and if you have a Wii and don't have No More Heroes yet GET IT.

Eh... I'd compare the first NMH to an awesome b-movie. Cool as all hell and worth experiencing at least once, but really not that good...

If they fix the terrible overworld system and remove some of the monotony in the combat I'll be pretty excited about this. Otherwise... not really.

As far as the "At the end of the game they said there wouldn't be a sequel" argument goes, you do realize that this entire game was kind of a inside joke poking fun at gamers right?

This news is AWESOME.

I still stand by the "dreamcast" graphics as a good aesthetic choice. The whole game is winking at you saying, "Hey, you remember how great that thing was in the late eighties and nineties?" It's also a good break from the mainstream ideal. The idea that you don't need to make things look more real to be even more fun.

I like cel shading and other attempts to keep a game's visuals stylized, but that doesn't mean that polygon drop out and ugly textures are OK.

Some parts of NMH looked fantastic, but the "overworld" parts looked pretty bad .

Never thought I'd get a sequel so soon.

Oh yeah! I just completed NMH, and I enjoyed it a lot.

Please increase the amount of side-quests a little, Suda, then it will be perfect. ^_^

Maybe I'm the only one who remembers that the fight you saw at the teaser trailer for NMH never showed up in-game. I'm sure the crazy, flying electric woman does look pretty cool, but that doesn't imply she's a boss character. You should be careful about what you infer.
