I’ve never really played any of the Monster Hunter games, but I’ve always thought they were pretty cool in concept. I love the fact that you get your weapons and armor from the bodies of the dragons you kill. Now that the game is coming to the Wii, I think I may finally give the series a chance.

The trailer shows off some beautiful environments and lots and lots of different types of dragons and monsters you’ll be coming across. There’s even a shark in the trailer that gets bitch-smacked by a dragon paw-like weapon. Neat!

Monster Hunter (tri) will be out sometime in 2009 for the Wii. How's the game looking to you?

Does this mean online co-op for the Wii? I sure as hell hope so.

Man I love MH, been playing ever since the first one came out for the PS2. I remember always trying to find groups for the endgame dragon online. Although I wonder how this one will handle online? Also water, thats new.

I never played MH before either, but I have to say... that's a Wii game? Man the Conduit seems to have some graphical competition.

Wii was always capable of doing pretty visual, and its only of late that they've started to come out. Man, if Capcom can do this for MH, I'd like to see more Wii games from them.

I have Monster Hunter Freedom on PSP, so once I have a Wii I'll get this.

They need to license the Jurassic Park music for this

DOES WANT! DOES WANT!!

The new swimming mechanic seems kinda ridiculous though. Underwater mining? Well, at least I can use mah sword to fish instead of a fishing rod.

Looks pretty cool. I might look into the previous titles.

Wow this looks absolutely incredible! The city is breath taking, and you know you'll want somewhere to hang out after an exhausting hour or two of carrying out some highly complex memorized pattern necessary to defeat these behemoths.

I hope so badly that they changed the way that the world loads.

Monster Hunter Freedom 2 is one of my favorite games, but the loading is HORRIBLE.

Ya know...i'm ashamed & feel bad that this is my first post/coment of any kind on here.
Ive been coming to this site everyday (Best online community EVER and one of the best places on the planet for any kind of gaming (and sometimes otherwise) related news) since it started and just became a member in the last year or so.
So...Hi!

But...with all that being said, this game has got me wondering what to do...
Ive been playing the series since the MH Beta on PS2, got a PSP for the games that came out on it, and was stumbling around in MHP2g (till someone tricked out my PSP w/ CFW and i got the translation patch for it)...and this is the first one in the series i am not sure if ill play it.

Not because it's on the Wii (it a good excuse for me to buy a game for it, as i havent touched it in months)...
...it's because i am worried about how it will control.
It looks great and i like what i see...but no one has said ANYTHING about how it will control.

You cant have waggle in a game like this, too busy trying to not get ran over or eaten to have to concentrate on if you swing the wiimote one way you'll get an attack or another way for a different one.
It's the only news i've been waiting on for this game.
I knew it would have Co-Op play of some sort (thats the main reason to play it), i just dont want it weighed down with gimmicky motion-controls when it doesnt need it...

*sighs* Sorry about the wall of text.

and...now ill shut up.
*goes back into hiding*

1st off welcome orochirion, it took me a while to actually post something too, and even then i rarely do. I'm just really curios about this game on the wii. . . it seems like it could be fantastic, but then i think about all the nonsense with friend codes. . . like i would hope that they add in Optional waggle things to make harvesting faster, maybe have you shake it any where for the roll maneuver could work too. i think in general waggle should used for bonus damage and things like that.
