While most videogame trailers reveal too much for my taste (I still refuse to watch the Resident Evil 5 videos), this preview for the new Prince of Persia contains the perfect amount of stunning visuals and interesting gameplay to get me interested ... without ruining anything that will make me regret watching it in the first place.
Oh, and it has pretty music. I am a sucker for pretty music.
The more I see of Prince of Persia the more I like it. In particular, I am a huge fan of the art style and the ridiculously vivid colors. A lot of recent games -- especially on the Xbox 360 -- display such muted visuals that it is refreshing to see a bright red and deep blue once and a while.
Let us know what you think about this TGS trailer. Are you excited for the new direction Prince of Persia is taking? Do you think the (badass) female companion is a fair replacement for the (also badass) time manipulation mechanic? Do girls with pretty singing voices make everything better?

Is anyone else a bit worried about the voice-over shown in the E3 walkthrough videos? The prince's voice sounded as out of place as Altair's in Assassins Creed. All husky and Emo.
I must be the only person here who's sick to death of nasally, piano-accompanied indie music with all these trailers.I mean, fuck, an epic game deserves an epic song. This just doesn't cut it for me.
Anticipation for this game has risen far over 9000. It can't come out soon enough. And I don't care about the voice-acting if the game is consistently full of as much eye candy as that trailer showed.
My god. Every time I see a trailer for this game it just looks better and better. Words can't express how glad I am they moved away from the angry emo-rock Prince. This game is just absolutely gorgeous...
Looks ok. I just hope the game isn't super easy due to the second character mechanics. I want some challenge to remain in a series that I've liked since it's resurrection =\
The comparison shots of Gears Gridlock map got me down. took my favorite, near colorless game, and sucked out the rest. damn. o well, FO3 and GoW2 may be amazing (albeit devoid of colors outside brown, grey, and red) but at least i got mirrors edge and the new prince of persia. by the way, this looks to be the best since the original. the 2nd two got too much angsty
The prince doesn't really talk rugged, Myheadsonfire. Actually, I'd say that the dialog and voice acting is the best part of the game. Some of the lines are hilarious... Especially when the prince and Elika don't have anything else to say to each other.
Oh and this game is soooo pretty. I got a friend who really digs this series so im interested to see how he'll take the new direction Ubisoft are taking with the franchise...
That trailer definitely helped spark my interest. Almost looks like the Sands of Time in that you have a partner you need to help with combat and puzzles, except more in depth.
