First, the bad news: Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop has been delayed until February 2009 in Japan with US and PAL releases to follow shortly after.

Now on to the good news: Here’s a brand new trailer for Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop! Well, good news if you’re not saddened by the fact that there are about a dozen zombies on screen at once.

Nick Chester just played Dead Rising for the Wii last week and wasn’t too impressed with the game. The TGS gang will be playing Dead Rising Wii again this week and hopefully we'll get to see an updated build of the game this time.

Hit the jump for the new trailer and check out the gallery below for some Mega Man-Frank West action. Anyone looking forward to the game?

@J03yyz: second that.

Honestly, who wants to play this? It's bastardized beyond all recognition.

This game is not for people who loved the original, and that's exactly why I want it.

RE4 controls > 360 Dead Rising controls X infinity.

@Tron: However, 12 zombies < 500 zombies.

My math is stronger.

Can we just make an actual sequel already without the bullshit of the original aka no Humvee that regenerates when you walk indoors or no bullshit gunstore owner fights.

Also, can I stab Otis in the eyes in the next one?

If you don't want a system, then you don't want its exclusive games. Games companies aren't required to port all their exclusives to other consoles.

Meh, I think I'll pick up the Xbox 360 original. More zombies to kill on screen, much cheaper, and it doesn't look like someone ate the original game and then dumped it out with some waggle controls.

Honestly, I wanted to get this game at first for the RE4 style of controls...but screw that, after seeing this enough. I'll just suffer Xbox 360 controls in favor of funnier moments.

Well ...

With 4 extra months of development time left, perhaps it will be polished to a much needed degree. I imagine the mixed media and public reaction to the game played a large part in delaying the game, and I hope the end result shows that Capcom can deliver ambitious game designs on the Wii (beyond Z&W).
