Tex Murphy: Tesla Effect is now available for pre-order

The fact that a new Tex Murphy game is just a few weeks away makes me really happy; it might not kick off a rebirth of the full-motion video adventure game genre but darn, it feels good to have Tex back in 2014. If you're keen to get put your money down now, then there's some nice pre-purchase incentives to check out.

If you pre-order Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure from GOG.com then you'll get 10 percent off the regular price, as well as the soundtrack and usual GOG goodies. Plus you'll get your choice of one of Tex's previous misadventures for free.

Pre-ordering on Steam will get you the same discount and soundtrack but no free game. It's worth going back to the Tex Murphy games, even if it's just to give you a primer for the new adventure.

Kentucky Route Zero is half off (and you should buy it)

Kentucky Route Zero fought hard in a number of categories in our 2013 game of the year awards despite only the first two of five episodes having been released. It is very good. Even if Act IV isn't out yet. You can get the season pass (Acts I-III now, IV and V whenever they come out) on Steam for $12.50 at the moment, half of the usual $25 asking price. Well worth it. more

Console owners should keep an eye on Nova-111

Funktronic Labs' cool turn-based/real-time hybrid adventure game Nova-111 was originally slated for PC/Mac/Linux first, followed by consoles at a later date, but that's no longer the case. The studio is partnering with Curve ...more

Bad dog! Outpost 13 basically lets you play as The Thing

This is why you name a dog Fluffy or Fido or Spot. When you go and give it a name like Fenrir, after a mythological wolf monster, it gets taken over by an alien being and wants nothing more than to devour your flesh and bone...more
