So, this will be my final video of the night. I wanted to show you guys what happens when you put in a GameCube disc and also what happens when you plug in the GC controllers -- even the Wavebird. I hope you all are enjoying the vids and that they're answering some lingering questions you may have had. We're having a lot of fun playing around with the console so far. It's like I'm 10 years old again or something. Very odd.
--One side note: I played about 10-15 minutes worth of Zelda tonight -- I've been up for just about 24 hours, so I have to call it a night -- but, the game already is a lot of fun with the Wii. I haven't been able to shoot my bow or anything yet, so I'm not sure if the preciseness with the Wiimote is better, but with what I have played, riding the horse and some of the other features are quite a lot of fun. Also, when I sat and played it, I just kinda lounged on the couch and rested the Wiimote and nunchuck on my legs in just about the most relaxed manner you can get and the game worked great like that. I'm looking forward to getting a good night's rest and playing a lot of Zelda tomorrow.
--Even another side note: I'm not sure if this is known or not, but you can turn off the Wii by hitting the power button on your Wiimote, ala the 360 controller.
When you plugged in the controller the first time, did you have the analog stick or d pad pushed up accidently? I know the controllers for the N64 I think it was when that happened, but I don't know about the Gamecube controllers.
I forgot to add, my GF actually said she got tired playing Excite Truck after about 30 minutes. She complained that her arms hurt from holding the controller up. She probably could have just rested her arms on her legs.
But, I will say this Brandan, when we played Wii Tennis and Wii Boxing (especially boxing) we were fairly active. I was working up a little bit of a sweat playing Boxing, in fact.
Yes, you are correct brandan, the reason to buy the Wii is so that you can be even lazier than before. You have got a sick and twisted world perspective little boy.
I am interested to know whether or not you made sure that the problem was with the port because the other solution seems more likley and I don't think a problem like a controller port not working at all should get past quality control.

It isnt a slot issue it was when you pluged in the controller the direction of the pad was up/down.
This is also an issue with the GC and N64. Soft reset was the answer or just unpluging it and sticking it back in.
I am very shocked that you don't know of this problem with pluging in controllers. It also has happened on my Xbox and PS2.
