Terraria is about to get physical photo

Terraria has been keeping its players amused with mining, building, fighting and treasure hunting since May last year. It's a pretty significant amount of players as well, most likely, with Re-Logic managing to shift over a million copies so far. Surprisingly, Terraria will now be forged into a physical state (probably requiring several hard to find materials) for those with digital distribution phobias.

Merge Games has announced that Terraria will be added to their site on March 16th in the form of a Collector's Edition which you can grab for £19.95. And what do you get for spending three times as much as you would for the digital version? Well you get a physical copy, don't you? Is such a treasure not good enough? If not, there's also a special in-game item, a key-ring, poster and trading cards. I'll be the first to put my hand up and say I don't get it, but perhaps it will strike a chord with a particular type of rabid fan. Mind you, I wouldn't turn down a free Terraria poster.

In-game item is a carrot that summons a bunny. A quick regedit can take care of that for current users though ;)

I'm a bit of a collector myself, and I much prefer to get physical copies of my games whenever I can, but how many times has Terraria been on sale for $2.50? Why hasn't everyone bought it yet?

I would like a poster, though...

I'm just chiming in to say that this is a really fun game, it's much more than the convenient shorthand "2D Minecraft" that gets tossed around. I haven't kept up with all the updates in a while, but I'd definitely recommend the game to anyone (especially now that it's so cheap).

It reminds me of the Super Meat Boy Ultra Edition. You got a rich colour filled manual, a goofy comic, a small poster, physical copy, exclusive content all for 5 extra bucks.
Not bad it i say so myself.
I hope these guys follow suite.

So far Terraria has really been worth the money I spent on it. I'm really hoping they make it a continually evolving product, because once you get the molten armor you just kinda enter sandbox mode. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it would be nice to throw in a loot system where you're always working towards better stuff.

Has it been a while since you last played? Version 1.1 adds 4 new bosses, 3 new minerals, new villagers, dozens of new enemies/items/weapons and several new biomes.

SMB's physical edition is/was great!

This though...not sure I'd make the same investment for Terraria, I dunno :/

I'm surprised Square Enix doesn't care about the edited Final Fantasy 1 sprites. I keep expecting them to ask for the devs to change them... but I guess that's just not gonna happen. Hooray for laziness!

Great attitude, bro.

I'll admit that I may be wrong in that they have changed the sprites since I last bothered looking at the game. However they did pretty blatantly edit old Final Fantasy sprites for the initial character models.

And in case you were confused, I meant the GBA/PSX versions of Final Fantasy 1. Perhaps I should have said 5.
