LOL, those guys/gals are great! I love how they feel that they think that they are entitled to more than they actually are. They bought it on PC, they probably enjoyed it and now they are moaning because someone else gets to experience it. If they don't want it on console, they don't have to buy it.

Because theres no chance pc users will ever see it. Stfu. I was a day 1 supporter of Terraria and this news is fucking awesome.
I for one agree with these heroes of PC Gaming! How DARE Console gamers learn about a game that I like! If anyone was to make Terraria successful, it means I can't look smug every time I wanna talk about indie games! IT'S JUST NOT FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIR!
I loved Terraria. I've put in over 70 hours, and if this port does the game justice (along with some new cool features like split-screen for example), then I'll pick this one up to. My only real concern is that the controls don't really seem like they would fir a controller very well.
But nonetheless, good for Re-logic, and I can't wait to hear more.

So stupid. Dark Souls is one of my favorite games and Im glad for From too get it out there on as many platforms as possible: they get too make more money and turn more ppl on to it. Anywayyy Im happy to try this game out on a console. These people need to live fuller lives.

Honestly, i think there is a very valid reason to be pissed. They abandoned the PC version months ago. Basicly told us all they were done with Terraria and were moving on. Then we get told their porting it to consoles, i mean come on Jim. Sure the whining is hilarious, but their reasons are valid as fuck.
You can tell they're the ones who likely bought it at £6 instead of the mind-boggling £1.50 it dropped to at times.
I did ask if we (pc user) would have the update when I saw the news. But under no circumstance I feel "betrayed"...

OK, I'll admit the whole Terraria debacle is shit. The team didn't seem to mesh well, and Redigit came off as kind of a jerk. But saying you HAVE to buy it again? Like you said, no one forced them.
But, I am a teensy bit miffed they stopped adding content after the first bit. Its probably a learning experience if they ever want to work in games again, that empty promises get them tons of hate mail :/
I am curious as to who ported it to the consoles, though. If it WAS Redigit, I will have lost all respect for him as a game developer.

I think a lot of you are misunderstanding the issue. The project was completely abandoned before completion, leaving a massive list of promised features not implemented. It was a sad and frustrating end to a very enjoyable game.
Then out of the blue to have a console version announced, when their version of the game is completely unfinished? I can understand the frustration. They are assuming that the console version will be an idealized complete version of the game, and that the PC version will not get that.
Maybe an unfounded assumption but it wouldn't be the first time, I really can't blame these people, as un-eloquent as they may be.

Wow, you people in these comments are no better than the people in those Terraria comments. You are massively generalizing PC gamers as whiney entitled brats. Yes, vocal PC gamers here are complaining about something stupid, but that's not limited to PC Gamers, that's what the entire fucking internet does. as a PC gamer myself (not exclusively), I kind of take offense to those generalizing and grouping together retards with those who aren't complete idiots. Just because we all play PC suddenly means we are all one in the same? I don't think so.

You guys will get it eventually. The devs will probably just go back to patch and update work, or onto big new projects, now that their tenuous work in unfamiliar territory is over.
I'm glad it's coming to PSN. Hopefully it hits the Vita (of course not!). I have a very modest laptop, and do not have an external mouse and keyboard. using one would require me to have a sit down table, which not only defeats the purpose of a laptop, but is also not in my interests and means, or allowable by my living situation's restrictions. Trying to play mouse and KB games like I did Quake III and Diablo II in the 90's simply is not arthritically [sic] and ergonomically possible for me.
With that said, I play plenty of games on steam using a 360 controller and xpadder... from Civilization V to Machinarium. It frustrates me when I buy something I really want to play like Terraria (or Capsized, or Diablo III once I've gotten to Inferno mode), and simply can't find a comfortable, intuitive control scheme or responsive+precise cursor speed when I try mapping it with xpadder.
It will be nice to play this the way I'm able to.

It seems to me they are more upset about the PC version not getting any updates than they are about the consoles getting a version.
The comments down here are more annoying than the ones in the article. Everybody is making a strawman saying "they're just mad it's coming to consoles, take that PC gamers!". The real reason people are mad is because updates were promised for PC. They released ONE big update and then announced that they aren't making further updates. Now they are making a console port when they could have been making updates. They abandoned their original user-base because it wont make as much money.
Why are so many people bitching about having to buy the game again? Why do you have to buy it again? Is the PC version going to magic its-self off your hard drive?

I really don't care about it getting ported. Only thing I worry about is the controls. Minecraft worked because the only block you could do anything with was right in front of you.
The slight dagger in the back is the fact they stated months ago they were going to end development on it. The graphic dev went off to do another game, and Red was about to have (another) child. They stated they'd put out one more bugfix patch at some point, but that never happened(oh well). Suddenly, months later, they appear with a console version that has extra content. That's not exactly the best way to treat your playerbase.
I will admit though: they made use of Molyneux-levels of hype for this, so it didn't totally surprise me.

Seriously, Jim! First, I read this article on the PC and then when I browse to Destructoid.com on my beta IE for the 360 you expect me to read it again! Clearly your only in this for the ad CTRs. I bet you expect me to read it on my smartphone and iPad, too! Greedy bastard :P

Any free content that is released after the purchase is an extra which you should be thankful for, but in no way are you entitled to it. Especially not for a game that is 10$ of which most of you probably bought it for about 3$ during a steam sale.
Anybody who claims that the game wasn't "finished" and therefore you ar e entitled to more content needs to shut up. The game was finished and it has significantly more content than most 10$ games. The features were features the developer wanted to put in the game, but he didn't because it was too much work and effort for a 10$ game which you probably paid 3$ for.

As long as the PC players get the new content as well, but this is upsetting to alot of people because we where told over and over that the project was over and they moved on. Its just we where promised more content, got one good patch, was promised more, and then told the project was dead and to give up hope. Its like your dad going off to war, then getting a letter saying he died in battle then several years later after mourning he comes home alive saying it was all a joke and that we should be cool with it. Were happy for the update just pissed in the delivery.
These fans would have whine to death if they lived in the plastic cartridge era where DLC didn't exist.
