Terminator Salvation for PC recalled photo

Based on the reviews that have come out so far it doesn't sound like you'll be missing out on much, but word came in today that the PC version of the Terminator Salvation game is being recalled (the console versions are fine). Apparently, a large number of the CDs suffered from a 'manufacturing defect', causing any attempt to install the game to fail with an "Error Code: -5006 : 0x80070002" message.

If you REALLY want to play Terminator Salvation though, don't worry. Evolved Games has already pulled all the copies off the shelves and will be replacing them soon. If you are one of the few unfortunate souls who bought this game got one of the defective CDs, Evolved will be announcing a way for you to return your game and get a new one sometime relatively soon.

I'm worried about the movie. The score on Rotten Tomatoes doesn't look promising. As of right now, it's at 37%... the same as the horrible X-Men Origins.

The trailer is phenomenal and really got me pumped for the movie, but the movie I envision is probably not going to be the movie I see.

A downloadable patch would be a much easier way to solve for the ones who already bought it. mailing in, waiting for the return.. Such a hassle

@CBunn

Unless you got it on Steam.

@CBunn A patch wouldn't work, because there's nothing to patch. The game won't even install.

I called it in the recap: Skynet.

This game probably won't sell well, and a recall is only going to cut into already low profits.

So apparently the game needed just as much salvation as the movie. I just came back from seeing it, seriously, rent it. Rent both.

The recall is all part of skynet's evil plot. The error installation code is just the beginning!

Weren't people bashing that proposed EU legislation to require a certain level of quality in the industry?

Looks like its needed to protect our wallets.
