Tenchu Shadow Assassins is $20 on Amazon today photo

I completely forgot about the existence of Tenchu: Shadow Assassins for the Wii. It seemed to appear almost as silently as an actual ninja would if one were to piss off an oyuban.

I have not enjoyed a Tenchu game since the first one, but twenty dollars is right on the threshold where I'm comfortable throwing money away on a title even if it winds up not being very good, as I usually get more bang for my entertainment dollar than I would paying roughly the same amount of cash on a mediocre movie in the theatre. And twenty dollars is the price Amazon is asking of me this morning.

Still, I'm a little uncertain as to whether or not I'm going to pick it up. Did anybody play this one? Or, did you overlook it also? Help me, people. I'm torn.

Hmmm, well it's still a Tenchu game. And on the Wii... Review scores (omg scores!) show it's pretty decent though. But, aren't there enough games to play now what with Fat Princess/Summer of Arcade? You may never play it much before the bigger titles start to come out in september/late august...

I only enjoyed the first two Tenchu games and I pretty much gave up on the series after playing a demo for one on the 360. $20 for this sounds about right if it isn't completely terrible. I'll have to some reading up on it.

It is decent. I loved the first one and pretty much soaked myself in disappointment with every following entry. It's a very entertaining single player experience, although its difficulty is kind of broken. There's a way too wide gap beetween "Look, no hands!" and "OH MY GOD, they just cheated me out of success!"

However, I am nitpicking and it is a very enjoyable stealth experience with a wide selection of cool moves to do. The waggle is, gladly, kept to a minimum necessary to justify its existance on the console. For twenty bucks, it's a no brainer for anyone who enjoyed any title on the series.

I've been on the fence about the last few Tenchu games.
The one thing I really want is Japanese audio and most of them don't have it. :(

It is without a doubt the best Tenchu since the first. The graphics are pretty good, and there's tons of great weapons/items secret areas. Lots of hidden ways to kill people that the game doesn't spell out for you. The only real problem is the fact that it's very trial and error, you HAVE to pay super close attention to everything so you can avoid being seen. It's more like a Ninja Splinter Cell than all the other games.

The last Tenchu game I enjoyed was Wrath of Heaven (I actually played the Xbox version called Return from Darkness), Tenchu Z sucked.

20 dollar seems okay, but aren't there newer better games that you can get for the same pice?

I've played the new Tenchu. It's alright. The controls aren't too bad, and the kills are pretty awesome, but the AI gets pretty annoying at times. At $20 it's not too bad. I think the lamest thing is the lack of grappling hook. That shit was awesome in the first Tenchu.

I actually really liked Tenchu Z, despite it's obvious shortcomings...

Apparently, Shadow Assassins is a return to form, so I'd say 20 bucks is probably worth it.

Much as I love Amazon, it's been 15 bucks on Newegg for a while, and even Gamestop has it at 20 bucks all the time (17 used). Not really a deal when you compare.

This is not a Tenchu game. It's a casualised action game. They'd have to give ME $20 to play it again.

I just got this from GameStop new for $20 (or I might have paid $16 used) just last week or the week before.

With all the other games I just picked up recently, I've only poured about ~20 minutes into it so far... but dear lord, I'm not a fan of the waggle. When I have more time to play it, I'll give it more of a chance.

My initial impressions are that Tenchu Z seems far superior all around.
