Ten minutes of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

2:40 PM on 03.01.2011

Ten minutes of The Witcher 2 beta footage have spilled their way onto the Internet, and it has to be said that the game's looking very nice. Although a lot of the footage is Geralt walking slowly around to show off the scenery, it's damn fine scenery.

The first Witcher was almost legendary for its glitchiness, so it's heartening to see that even in beta, Assassins of Kings looks more polished than its predecessor. Combat looks like it'll be quicker and more action-packed as well, which is no bad thing.

I'm pretty excited to play this one. I liked the first, but stopped playing due to its bad pacing and tendency to be broken. This looks set to improve on everything, so I'm looking forward to a great game.

Text box attacks and more in Dragon Quest Heroes

Dragon Quest Heroes is coming to PS3 and PS4. Non-exclusive property as it is--in fact, we've seen a lot more Dragon Quests on Nintendo consoles recently--it seems to be the PlayStation console answer to Hyrule Warriors, which Jordan is somehow still playing. I think he's even going to buy an amiibo for it.  more

Witcher 3 may have 'Insanity' mode, deletes your save upon death

I've always been fascinated with permadeath options in games. Witcher 3 might have a doozy. Witcher 3 senior game designer Damien Monnier and level designer Miles Tost recently streamed the game on Twitch and hosted...more
