Capcom's Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles hits shelves tomorrow, and while Jonathan Holmes will have our full review later in the week, I wanted to give you a quick glimpse of what you'll encounter in the first ten minutes.
Being the follow-up to the on-rails shooter Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, players should know what to expect in terms of gameplay, as it doesn't seem like too much has changed. Of course, The Darkside Chronicles features 20 or so new missions, exploring events of the series, including Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica.
This first mission, as seen above, has has Leon Kennedy on his first mission with Jack Krauser ("Operation Javier"), as they investigate a small South American village. A few bio-organic weapons and zombies later... well, I don't want to spoil to much for you.
You can also see that the game looks great on the Wii, particularly the lighting in the "Operation Javier" mission. You can also see that I'm not the best shot; maybe I should have chosen the game's "Easy" mode which provides some auto-target assistance. But what fun is that, really?
this is getting old quick. write a real dam story and quit copping out to these easy spoiler video blogs. be original, instead of stealing what some other site has been doing, get original interviews. what pissed me off more than anything was topher stepping on Yojimbo's copy blog when all y'all do is copy some other sites interview or idea and add a quick two cents to make it sound not so copy. fuck hypocrites.
Not all of us go to other sites. For me Dtoid is a one-stop-shop for all gaming news and it's the only site I trust. I'm glad that they do 10 minute taste because I'm not gonna go looking for footage of games on any other sites and it's a good way to get a feel for the games.
Well this all looks pretty solid. I've held off on getting a rail shooter on the wii because it seems like there is always a better one on the horizon. I'll pick this up for definite.
Honestly, House of the Dead: Overkill is the best rail shooter on the Wii easily and I would definitely suggest getting it. It is a ton of fun, hilarious writing, good music, varied and interesting levels, has great weapons and the ability to level them up, and tons and tons of blood.
If Darkside Chronicles doesn't end up doing it for you, give it a shot.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
ah the irony considering you couldn't even be bothered to write a different post for both videos, instead its a copy-paste.

@tvirusgez:
I know! I totally noticed that while playing. I should have called it out. Because, really... wow. Haha.
