Quick, name some videogames that let you punch a velociraptor in the face with a quicktime event. I'll start -- Jurassic: The Hunted!
This Activition-published first-person shooter quietly made its way to shelves last week for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii. After negotiations involving Miranda Cosgrove (don't ask), I was able to get my hands on a copy of the game. And yes, within the first ten minutes, I had to tap A repeatidly to punch a velociraptor off of me. Awesome? I think so.
Jurassic: The Hunted follows Dylan, a military escort hired to protect a doctor on the search for her father lost in the Bermuda Triangle. One thing leads to the other, the good doctor is stolen by lightning (yes, really!), and Dylan wakes up in a dinosaur-infested island, seemingly trapped in time.
The game plays like your typical first-person shooter, with impressive graphics for a $39.99 budget title, and -- did I mention this already? -- velociraptor boxing. Quick note: Immediately after this ten minutes of gameplay, I shot the crap out of some pteranodons and velociraptors with a mounted machine gun I found in the jungle. If you ask nicely enough, I'll post video of that later. It's pretty incredible.
If you can find it, Jurassic: The Hunted is available in stores now.
"it looks like a dinosaur" No jack it looks like a mediocre game . Damn i thought they might have made a decent game here the graphics ain't even terrible but it's just the over all feel of bleakness and mediocrity.
Also this game should be called "Jurassic to Late Cretaceous Period: The Hunted" because as we all know the Trex and the Triceratops weren't alive during the Jurassic period.
You know, for all the campiness and bad dialogue and mediocre graphics, this actually looks more interesting than Turok. I played about three to four hours of Turok and eventually just got so bored that I never went back to playing it. The story here is at least marketable in so much as that the character's simplicity works for him, you're basically given so much as 'I'm on some island near the Bermuda Triangle, there's dinosaurs, and my friends are gone.' instead of some ridiculous backstory that I can't even remember all of the particulars of other than the idea that Turok is somehow Native American and there's these soldiers and something something..about space...
It was paced really well, and it did pique my interest... at the same time, you know it's not a blockbuster title but not for sale at that price either. I don't know, I'll give it a shot.
You know someone doesn't play enough FPS's when they leave a single bullet in their clip until they get into another firefight... I'm a compulsive reloader I think, I reload every two seconds, even if I only shoot one bullet.
Anyways, game looks fun... I would probably pay like... $5 for it.
you drop the name Miranda Cosgrove and then expect me not to ask? Oh but I must ask! What about Miranda Cosgrove? Did you meet her? Can she give a shout out to Netnavi!?
How have I not heard of this game? It looks an awful lot like turok and I played that game to death on the 64. I may have to pick this up DESPITE the QTEs.
Is it just me or does this look like it could be fun. I'm even digging the campy dialogue. Maybe it gets old quick but this video has perked my interest. A budget title that could possibly be good now that would be something.
Regardless of the quality, we need MOAR DINOSAUR GAMES!!
I do want an Operation Genesis sequel on the PC most of all though.
Theme Park + Dinosaurs + A second time = profit??!
Why the foxtrot had I not heard of this game until now, lol. I love how after you fight like 7 raptors, he looks at a random corpse and says "Looks like a... dinosaur?"
I may have to get this game, and I want the footage of the mounted gun battle.
I'd choose this game over the overhyped piece of mediocrity that is Modern Warfare 2 any day of the week. For reals, yo!
That said, is it any better than Legendary?
The statement is only true, if the answer to the question is "hell yeah". Also, any word on a PAL release? Play-Asia lists the NTSC version as not region free :(
LOL, this game looks so bad in a cheesy kinda way. I love that, that's why Stranglehold was so good. I might get this game when its in the bargain bins for 10 bucks. It will be one of those games that me and my friends love to play to laugh at. And there's Dinosaurs! That's a win.

I'm wondering if it's better on 360/ps3 or Wii.....
I'd buy it.
also someone doesn't always reload -_- t'was frustrating at times to see that video.
But they had mounted machine guns in the Jurassic period?
Ok, that was gloriously campy, shamelessly derivative, and courageously generic. All I have to say is:

This is my favorite part. The game actually doesn't look that bad either. I will definitely be picking it up when it's dirt cheap.
anyway this gem should be arriving in my mailbox sometime today.... cant wait hahah

-What the HECK?
-What the foxtrot is going on here?
-Code Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
And, I admit, I stopped watching but in 8 minutes, I think one dinosaur got shot to death and there was a QTE. HORRID.
I may have to get this game, and I want the footage of the mounted gun battle.
