I took "reboot" to mean they might rewrite the story. Not sure how I feel about this. I loved the story of the first 6 games so much, I don't know if I could handle the universe being altered.
However, it's too early to tell so I'll just be cautiously optimistic for now. :)

Really? Jurassic Park, Walking Dead, BTTF, and Now Kings Quest? Will be interesting to see if the can keep up the quality over so many games.

Roberta Williams hasn't really expressed much interest in remaining involved in producing games since she and Ken retired from Sierra years back. I'm sure she's happy to hear the news, but I doubt she'll be involved directly in the project.
That said, I'm looking forward to seeing what TT can do with the series... and for those of you not keeping up with it: The Silver Lining [www.tsl-game.com] has just released Episode 3 of their effort. Go check it out, it's really neat!

I was just looking at the other announced Telltale games and I was a bit disappointed and thinking "Where's my comedy?!" and then I read THIS.

Pretty sweet news. Outside of their Sam & Max games Telltale seems to do amazing work. Maybe Sam & Max are amazing too, but the characters are just so annoying.

Once upon a time, I had a Tandy 3000, and on said "PC", I had all that Sierra Online had to offer. Space Quest, King's Quest, Police Quest (is that what it was called?!!), Leisure Suit Larry, hell, even had Thexdar. Picking up King's Quest is awesome, as long as it isn't fucked up. If it opens the door to Space Quest and beyond, more power to Telltale. Sierra Online is what I broke my gaming teeth on, better do them right.
Oh man, KQ5 is one of my introductions to PC gaming, and KQ6 was the first memorable PC game I owned. I know that the series was one of the pioneers of "adventure game logic", but King's Quest and Space Quest will always have a special place in my heart. <3
Is this an actual reboot or simply a revival of the series? The article is way too vague regarding how the new games fit with the rest of the series, and games journalist throw the word 'reboot' around far too casually, often without fully understanding its implications. Are Telltale erasing the entire King's Quest franchise from continuity and beginning a brand-new, unconnected series reusing the name and some other elements of the previous universe? That is what 'reboot' means, and why it bothers me so much to see fans clamouring for a 'reboot' of their favourite series. More often than not, they don't know what they're really asking for, or what they really want.
