Telltale making episodic Jurassic Park game, for realz! photo

So, Telltale is making an episode game based on Jurassic Park. Is that awesome? Of course it is!

The news has been spilled thanks to the front cover of this month's Game Informer. Unfortunately, details beyond the confirmation of its existence seem thin on the ground at the time of writing, but you can rest assured that people are always creaming their jeans over this news. The concept alone is delicious enough to be excited about.

What would you like to see in a brand new Jurassic Park game, and are you as giddy about this as we are?

I'm glad people haven't forgotten about Jurassic Park, even though the movies have ceased (for the moment.) Made by the Sam and Max guys... I'll keep it on my radar.

Why now? Is something else planned to bring the franchise back into the spotlight? It's hard to believe they'd develop a stand alone game at this point in time, not unless they're banking on monster killing continuing to be a big trend.

@ pokota: It's possible they're finally going to get the 4th film off the ground and into production, which would also be great.

Sure, the sequels aren't as good as the original in terms of being a complete and full movie, but they're fun rides that I enjoyed watching, especially in theaters.

And these films are very relevant to me right now; They've been on HBO and Cinemax a lot in the past few months, and I always leave them on when I see them. The kids get a kick out of them.

Also, yay dinosaurs!

I play this as a drinking game with my friend. We just go back and forth with lines from the movie until someone pauses. We can go on FOREEEEEVER.

How do you know? Does someone go into the park and lift the dinosaurs skirts?

Jurassic Park is cool, but I have to wonder what this game is actually going to be. If it's from Telltale I can only assume it's going to be an adventure game, but I have to wonder how that would work.

Lets hope this game goes through the best Jeff Goldblume lines in the movie. "must go faster, must go faster".

4th film has been in "production" for years...

Played the SNES version a lot but I would have rather had the Genesis version with the playable raptor. You bred raptors?

Jurassic Park is the first movie I remember seeing at the drive-in movie theater. When it came out on tape, I watched it like 30 times a week XD I finally read the books in High School though. GREAT story, awesome film, and definitely a Tell-tale game I can get behind before it's even released.

Is everyone forgetting "Trespasser"? You're lucky.

Also, "Operation Genesis" was good, but over way too quickly. There wasn't much to do other than destroy the dock and release the Raptors/Rex. Admittedly though, that was fun.

Try to imagine yourself in the Cretaceous Period. You get your first look at this "six foot turkey" as you enter a clearing. He moves like a bird, lightly, bobbing his head. And you keep still because you think that maybe his visual acuity is based on movement like T-Rex – he'll lose you if you don't move. But no, not Velociraptor. You stare at him, and he just stares right back. And that's when the attack comes. Not from the front, but from the side, from the other two raptors you didn't even know were there. Because Velociraptor's a pack hunter, you see, he uses coordinated attack patterns and he is out in force today. And he slashes at you with this – a six-inch retractable claw, like a razor, on the middle toe. He doesn't bother to bite your jugular like a lion, oh no... he slashes at you here, or here... or maybe across the belly, spilling your intestines. The point is... you are alive when they start to eat you.

So you know... try to show a little respect.
