Telltale announces all-star Poker Night at The Inventory photo

Telltale Games has announced what it's calling "the Citizen Kane of poker games," and it might be right -- Poker Night at The Inventory sounds like the best thing ever.

The game will star Penny Arcade's Tycho, Max of Sam & Max, they Heavy from Team Fortress, and Homestar Runner's Strong Bad. They're going to -- get this -- play poker. The game features fully-voiced characters, and will used Telltale's dynamic dialogue system as the character trash talk each other, tell stories, and react to the game in progress.

Poker Night at The Inventory
will be available on Steam this fall for both PC and Mac, and will cost $4.99.

Strong Bad, Max, Tycho and Heavy make so much sense in a poker game.
Can somebody PLEASE explain to me how?

I couldn't care less about poker games. Never learnt the rules thoroughly enough to step up to the table. I couldn't really think of anything that will get me interested (other than money).

Until now. :O)

Valve and Telltale games are practically best friends. TF2 got content to promote Sam & Max pre-orders a while back on Steam, and I'm sure Valve is going to get a cut of this, either for licensing the character or the Steam sales.

Just wait and see until they confirm Achievements and a fucking hat for TF2.

Also, I would love to see a fully voiced Tycho.

Initial disappoint has lead to slight interest for me. I mean really? A poker game? I could think of a million other games I'd rather play with these characters. Hell, even a cart racer would be a better idea. But still, the fully-voiced characters, and dynamic dialogue system sound interesting and at only $5, I'll probably buy this. Still though, poker? God damnit.

In a way it's Telltale going back to their roots as the first game they ever made was a poker game.

Ugh. I don't like the visuals. Strongbad looks way out of place, and Tycho's drawn by someone else. I'm hearing there's no multiplayer too...

Hell, it IS Telltale. Get Guybrush Threepwood in on the action.

I see this having hilarious potential. And hell, $5 is a damn good value for aforementioned potential.
