Tekken movie sales art shows off the color blue photo

Despite my other job being that of a film critic I have been paying little to no attention to the upcoming Tekken film set to be released in 2010 at some point. I could make up a plethora of excuses about why, but it's mostly because I am 99.9 percent positive it will suck, and the new promotional art you see above for the film pretty much pushes that percentage up to 100.

Despite "Survival is no game" being an almost unbearably cheesy/awesome catch phrase it's hard to find anything else of value going on here. The women look like they were dressed by either someone from the 1980s or at the local costume shop and the men all have decidedly serious faces on that inform me they're taking this far too, well, seriously. Evidently, in the near future that the film takes place in everything is tinted blue as well. In all fairness though, is this any worse than the Tekken 6 box art? I mean come on Tekken. Street Fighter delivers this, and all you can muster up is five people standing around flexing?

Anyway, back on topic. Bad movie, bad sales art.

I fail to see what's so terrible? It looks like Tekken. There's not much else anyone can say at this point given there's not even a trailer out for it yet.

@Ace

It's Tekken. It can't even keep up with Pokemon in terms of a coherent plot. These stories have always been tacked on, nonsensical crap in the games, why would a movie suddenly get the benefit of a doubt?

Prince of Persia - on the other hand - I can give a benefit of a doubt. This based on director, studio and source material. Oh, and actual trailers showing progress.

Prince of Persia would have been fine if they would have at least attempted to cast a decent Prince. I'm actually looking forward to Tekken, hopefully it's just as cheesy and ludicrous as the Dead or Alive movie was.

Jin's hair fails.

The next fighting game on the list is probably Guilty Gear.

@Los255: Aren't they in the process of finishing KoF right now? Also, who is that in the left with a Goatee? There's a scar on his left cheek which could indicate someone like Kazuya maybe, but Kazuya doesn't have a lousy goatee. Also, didn't they also give Brian Fury a goatee in this movie? SMH

oh please. Street Fighter 4 didn't do good either. It doesn't Feature Ken beating himself up on the box art.

This movie is going to suck because it won't have Mokujin, Gon, Roger, OR Alex.
