I can't wait to see this. You have to get where I'm coming from first to understand. Know that I watched the Dead or Alive movie about 20 times. Maybe more. It was so impossibly bad that it ended up being more entertaining than any game adaption that tried to be "good."
This first official trailer for the Tekken movie hops around too much for me to know if it has that same so bad it's good magic, but I already feel pretty good about this one. You don't quite cringe at the dialogue in this trailer, but you at least begin to duck your head. That's a good sign for me. For those of you that insist that every movie be "good," know that you're f*cked.

I liked Dead Or Alive. And yet I thought Street Fighter: Legend Of Chun-Li was one of the worst movies EVER made.
So even I don't fully understand my tastes or whether that means I might like or detest Tekken.
The Dead or Alive movie is actually really good in comparison to other video game adapts. They nailed the characters pretty well, and the fight scenes were appropriately cheesy without becoming fondue.
the only character who looked like himself was Raven
I feel like that trailer tells you all you need to know about the movie. It was like a cliff's notes version. Now none of us have to actually suffer through it.
to be honest, the fighting looks to be way better than any fighting game movie that has come out! Thats not saying much but I'm hoping the fights are decent
is this a fan made project ? like an independently developed unofficial tekken movie ? because that's what it looks like to me. also Jin is some white kid...and where's the awesome funky Tekken music ?
Agreed on DOA. It was incredibly stupid, but still fun. I think they went into it knowing it couldn't be a serious film. Street Fighter on the other hand, was trying way too hard.
at least it will follow the game's story and Yoshimitsu looks like Yoshimitsu.
i don't expect the characters to look exactly like those in the game but where's Panda?
I actually thought that looked pretty decent, certainly better than Dragon Ball ond Street Fighter. Although that's not saying much. I can imagine it being on par with the Resident Evil movies if we're lucky.
I agree with Dale about the DOA movie. That was some quality bad entertainment right there!
As for this Tekken movie, i'm also getting the same vibes as I did from watching DOA. It could be so bad it's good, and there's nothing wrong with that.
This movie seriously looks like all other video game movies.
So much so, that I'm pretty sure that this movie was actually made in the 90s. The distubutors probably realised what they had on their hands and buried it in an underground vault for the good of all humanity, and now some idiot who loved Double Dragon: The Movie has gone and dug it up and we're all fucked.
I have to say it looks alright actually. It's not like Tekken had some epically good story anyways. Will probably be on par with the Mortal Kombat films. Hopefully not as bad as Legend of Chun Li or DOA.
I really do want to see this movie on day one, I shouldn't be this excited for this movie, since I a huge Tekken fan. One thing I find interesting is that the gave Chrisite a more suitable fighting entire then her in game costume. Sad to say I know alot about the Tekken storyline, so when I do see this movie I have to not comapre the to. I really hope the have a bowling scene, then it becomes the greatest movie ever. Also, YAY Dragunov
As I said on the cblog that had the trailer, this movie really looks like Tekken; stupid plot, stupid dialog, characters beat the shit out of each other. The only thing they really needed to get right was how everyone looks, and it seems they nailed it.

I'm just confused.
I bought it, and I need to snag it on Blu too.
I want to nail the characters in DOA too.

I knew that was coming.
Myself, i cant stand it :(

Who keeps deciding they should make these movies?

i'm disappointed
this will probably suck but the characters look quite accurate
And where the fuck is King?
Plus, aside from Heihachi, at least all the fighters look like the fighters.

No Gun Jack, Panda, and every other aspect of this movie = Boo!
And I will support anything that has Kevin Nash in it.
