Tekken 6 online patch incoming (once it passes cert) photo

Oh, Tekken 6. Like all other online-compatible fighting games, there's always going to be the obligatory outrage against less-than-stellar netcode.

Thankfully, Namco Bandai is already on the case. In a general statement sent out to just about every Web site ever, it was noted that a patch addressing the online woes will be ready "as soon as it has passed rigorous testing procedures." The word must get out, guys!

Assuming the update doesn't remain in certification hell, you can look forward to seeing improved online play in Tekken 6 fairly soon. Also, this is different from the "online co-op Scenario Campaign mode update," which is still planned for release later on this year.

In the meantime, you can continue beating up baby bears, or "being up" them, for that matter.

Beat the crap out of that bear? No way! Not after I saw that Mystery Science Theatre 3000 episode where they watched some poor cub being pulled out of a tree and taunted.

Can we get more coverage on this game please. I seem to know every minute detail on mw2, whereas this gets released and I barely hear anything. There must be a reason why it was top of the Japanese arcade charts.

@ToiletDuck: I am afraid men with guns provide more hits than Japanese Schoolgirls , Angry Killer cubs, Kangaroos , Robot-girls , Sumos , Aliens , Sassy Special Agents and Half-naked women combined.

I know it's a goddamn shame ....

I just rented Tekken 6 and did in fact partake in the killing of baby bears.

I thought that shit was fucked up, but the real atrocity is the overall quality of the game.

Seriously, I would have thought I was playing a PS2 game had it not been for the achievements and of course the controller. What a cheap and lazily made game.

Namco truly has no shame, eh?

I paid the Collector's price for the sweet arcade stick and I kiiinda regret it but the game is great. Tekken Ghost mode took a lot of hours away last week listenning to podcasts and eventhought the Scenario mode is piss poor I still found some enjoyment out of it.

@njsykora: Yeah. The gameplay of Tekken 6 is good, but that's a given. Everything else about it is pretty crappy IMO. The terrible Scenario Campaign Mode, the shitty graphics, the overall lame presentation.

The amount of characters and the gameplay make my rental worth it, but that's it; The game is just a decent rental.

To those without T6 yet, I would like to point out that the image above is a screenshot.

@Eteral

The Scenario Mode has bad graphics compared to the regular fighting mode but it is still enjoyable.

@EDS, The graphics aren't THAT bad. They're no where near ps2 quality. They're definitely subpar for recent titles but this is essentially a 2 year old game they JUST now ported over.

Online is the only mode that would bring enjoyment, but the input lag is so horrendous that its impossible to follow up any juggles.

@EDS,

I hope you're not talking about the graphics of the core game because they're great. The backgrounds and motion effects make them look even better as well.

As for Scenario Campaign... I'm kind of getting a kick out of it...

I know I'm in the minority, but I've found it to be a pretty quick (and somewhat entertaining) way to unlock character costumes while making crap-tons of money (to buy MORE costumes) at the same time.

And a tip for anyone having trouble enjoying Scenario mode: DON'T PLAY WITH THE ANALOG STICK! I couldn't figure out the retarded control scheme until I realized that the only way you can play your character with their full moveset is with the d-pad. Only use the analog stick to run away from the pack and get items.

Basically, I rock out the d-pad, practicing actual juggles for characters I'm trying to learn while simultaneously nabbing costume items.

Lastly, aren't you the guy who said King of Fighters XII was a GOOD game?

Ouch.

Tekken 6 as an offline versus fighter is damn near perfect. It's absolutely sublime.

Online, however...a fucking joke, that is.

i agree with everyday legend, but tekken isn't an online play kinda game. It's the kinda game where you have your opponent next to you as you se his brow full of sweat and feel the heat from his many curses as you brutally beat his ass with kazuya...that's what it's all about...
