Capcom isn't the only one with a shiny new arcade mega-hit on the way. Tekken fans have been waiting patiently to get their hands on a US arcade release of Tekken 6, weird-ass characters and all. While the Japanese have been pumping 100 yen coins into Tekken 6 machines for awhile now, US fans have been left out of the loop... until now.
Houston, Texas based arcade Planet Zero has just premiered what may be the very first Tekken 6 machines in the US. They sent word that the game debuted this past Friday. Hundreds lined up in hour-long queues to go head-to-head on Namco Bandai's superfighter, which reportedly sported HD monitors and data card readers. Check out pictures from the event in the gallery below.
If Anime Zero sounds familiar, they should. They're the folks behind the upcoming 2008 Showdown Championships arcade fighting tournament to be held at Anime Matsuri later this month, and they will be featuring Tekken 6 in the competition. You know where to practice now.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Screw You...
I'll have to check this out when I go to the Whole Foods Market. Because thats the only time I head that far down on westhiemer
Not in my neck of the woods. I'll play it on my PS3.
I wonder how many of them are used to the japanese style controls.
Also, I didn't know you could put in a widescreen monitor into an Atomiswave candy cab.
Anyway, the only arcade in my podunk town is a TILT. It's pretty spacious, but I'd wager they don't have a machine that's less than seven years old.
Nei died first, noobs.

Who's all going to Matsuri anyway? I really don't care for it, but if people are going that I'd like to say hey to, I'll go.
Is that what Planet Zero is?
I thought it was some plain old Anime store like the other 5-6 places here in Houston. Hmm... I may have to go over there and check it out some weekend.
Wouldnt it be classic if after someone lost a challenge, the winner teabagged him.
Maybe that's why he wants to play on the ps3
Sorry for goin slightly off topic, but The Wrath made me think of it by mentioning not wanting to trash talk face to face.
