Tekken 3D Prime Edition includes free movie on cartridge photo

Namco Bandai wants you to know that the King of Iron Fist Tournament will make its 3D debut on Valentine's Day of next year. You can sit at home, lonely, eating a box of chocolates while you try out the game's 40 characters to see what they look like in 3D. You can put the game in practice mode and stare at the female characters, trying to pretend that you're not lonely.

Tekken 3D Prime Edition uses the 3DS' WiFi connectivity to support head-on battles that they say will run at 60fps. You'll also be able to exchange "Tekken Cards" with the game's Street Pass feature.

And get this: For the first time you'll get a free movie on your game cart. Namco Bandai says that the game cart will also include the animated movie Tekken: Blood Vengeance.

We have several new screenshots of Tekken 3D in our gallery.

That's a lot of content. I remember the days when we had 12 characters in our fighters and were glad to have that much.

Back in my day we went to arcades and put money in machines to play these with 12 characters. And I had to walk uphill in the snow to get those arcades. Both ways!

And we met with and socialized with other people waiting in line to play. Kids today with your online gaming and asocial competitions!

Definetly looking forward to the game, expecially if it has online multiplayer and character customization ala Tekken 6.

As for the movie...well, don't raise your hopes too high. XD

When I was young, the only fighting games we had involved horses and spears!

@ The Silent Protagonist

If you live (or lived) in Quebec I'd actually be able to confirm that "walk uphill in the snow to get to arcades" part. Went there on a class trip when I was 13 (yeah an international trip for a middle school class, and we lived no where near the boarder -it was a blast) and it was winter.. and Quebec is built on the biggest most convoluted hills I've ever seen, lol. BUT there was an arcade super close to the Hotel (a fancy fancy place with no arcade IN it) and the teachers really didn't care if we went off and got lost in the city as long as we were back by a certain time. Me and my friends spend the whole time in the arcade or eating at the McDonald's next door to it, lol. Whole trip was fun though.

Any way, this game should be fun if you can get others to play with you. The addition of a movie is nice too, but makes me wonder how much space they really had left over, and how much space other games usually have left over -specially seeing as how Capcom wants us to pay $10 more for Resident Evil because it comes on a bigger card.

Do you really need an answer to your question? It's Capcom.

I guarantee if this was made by Capcom it would take seven rereleases to get this amount of content

Back in my day, the character King was the original King!
The man in a suit who helped out the orphanage!
Not the new fangled Tap Out wearing King!

So what Tekken IS this even?

I'm guessing it's just a port of Tekken 6?

Who would buy that when you can get it for PS3/360 for like $10 now?

Anyone who wants it portable?

It's not like you can carry an Xbox 360 and 3D TV plus an industrial power supply with you to McDonalds.

Not wanting to be all backseat Blogger, but this 'news' is a couple of months old.

Also, the film is terrible.

That said, I'm still keen to grab this day 1. 60fps Tekken on my handheld? Yes please.

While the game might still be good, I saw the film, and it was freaking HORRIBLE.

@El Conrado,

True, but what I'm really saying is, "Who wants to buy another copy of a game that you were already done playing a year ago?"

And fighting games are about competition. Good luck finding another person with a 3DS who also likes Tekken and for some reason also doesn't want to just play the game they already own at home with much better graphics/controls/online.

The only people I can see wanting this are Tekken fans who never owned a 360 or PS3. A demographic which probably doesn't exist.

That's kind of cool, but considering the movie comes in the recently released Tekken PS3 bundle, why would I need another copy? I suppose if you're a Nintendo loyalist or want one on the go, but at that small of a resolution?

I'm a bit suspicious as to why they're just giving this movie away free twice. It's probably terrible, hopefully it's the good kind of terrible where it's laughably bad, still I guess free is free.

Well, Super Street Fighter 4 3D has sold a million copies so far, and that was a launch game. It also has pretty decent online play as far as I know.

Tekken is releasing into a larger installed base, and it also has online.

Who knows. I think you may be underselling it's potential a bit too much.

Already have Tekken 6 for PS3 and PSP as well as Tekken Hybrid. I think I'll sit this one out unless they announce something neat that makes it stand out compared to other entries.

So far all I see that's new is the stages and the younger Heihachi (I hear that part of the reason did that change with the character was because the voice actor died or something).

@Scissors

not really, after some odd scenes and such it was a "great" movie and definitely on the right track(along with Advent Children Complete) in terms of Video Game Movie adaptation.
