Master Splinter's pizza-pushin' crew of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are set to have a big 2007 with a movie deal and games released on six consoles in the spring. The screenshots below are of the rezzed down PS2 version which, judging solely on these stills, is true to the new non-anime direction of the third generation shell shock (the first being Laird's disgusting yet intriguing comics, second being the goofy cowabunga tv show of the 80's -- and furthermore I didn't go to their Pizza Hut concert because we were poor but I had the music tape).
The game (and perhaps movie?) is scheduled for a Spring 2007 launch. Look for the Turtles on your PC, PS2, Xbox 360, Wii, GameCube, PSP, DS, GBA ... and two months later, the Blockbuster video bargain bin. I kid, but you know where I'm coming from. Historically speaking, Hollywood-fueled video game releases can be a lot like suspecting your hot date is actually a tranny. Sure, they look good, but only a very few amount of people enjoy that kind of experience. Can't always trust your eyes. That said, we can't wait to play it and hope to report otherwise if it's good. Nine brand new screenshots attached of the PS2 version.
On a sidenote -- do you remember how simulatenously awesome and craptacular the NES versions were? We were desperate children wanting to believe! The four player arcade game was genius though (sneak it in as a hidden bonus, please). Konami provided a wonderful childhood for me.

I was never a fan of the comics
the movie
the tv show
...nothin - might just be me though
In all seriousness, I am kinda looking forward to the new flick, but this game I'm just gonna have to wait and see, so far I'm not very impressed.
You know what would be sweet? A collection of all those old sweet 4 player arcade games. TMNT, X-men, Simpsons, and whatever other ones I'm missing.
Donatello, FTW...
Also, the comics were awesome. As were the 4-player arcade games (Simpsons and X-Men included). So was every NES TMNT game after the first one. And the Sega games, including the fighter.
... I fucking love TMNT.
the game, though, is kinda looking like prince of persia o.O
it at least already looks like a fun rental? nothing was better than the classic TMNT arcade game - happily took all my quarters r.i.p
Im in my office right now with a November issue of a comic called Raphel, dated Nov, 1985. The cover has Raph and Casey Jones on the roof tops and holding uzi's, those are my turtles.
Movie looks lame, but Im a fan , so I'll go see it.
I have the Leonardo comic (basis for the first TMNT movie)
Also, I totally had the "Coming Out of our Shell" tape and loved it. I also loved my Ninja Turtle pajamas and roller skates.
at least get emulated well, danmitt...
