Master Splinter's pizza-pushin' crew of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are set to have a big 2007 with a movie deal and games released on six consoles in the spring. The screenshots below are of the rezzed down PS2 version which, judging solely on these stills, is true to the new non-anime direction of the third generation shell shock (the first being Laird's disgusting yet intriguing comics, second being the goofy cowabunga tv show of the 80's -- and furthermore I didn't go to their Pizza Hut concert because we were poor but I had the music tape).

The game (and perhaps movie?) is scheduled for a Spring 2007 launch. Look for the Turtles on your PC, PS2, Xbox 360, Wii, GameCube, PSP, DS, GBA ... and two months later, the Blockbuster video bargain bin. I kid, but you know where I'm coming from. Historically speaking, Hollywood-fueled video game releases can be a lot like suspecting your hot date is actually a tranny. Sure, they look good, but only a very few amount of people enjoy that kind of experience. Can't always trust your eyes. That said, we can't wait to play it and hope to report otherwise if it's good. Nine brand new screenshots attached of the PS2 version.

On a sidenote -- do you remember how simulatenously awesome and craptacular the NES versions were?  We were desperate children wanting to believe! The four player arcade game was genius though (sneak it in as a hidden bonus, please). Konami provided a wonderful childhood for me.

TMNT > YOU!!

In all seriousness, I am kinda looking forward to the new flick, but this game I'm just gonna have to wait and see, so far I'm not very impressed.

You know what would be sweet? A collection of all those old sweet 4 player arcade games. TMNT, X-men, Simpsons, and whatever other ones I'm missing.

I was glad that there was another movie in the works for TMNT, and I was taken by surprise when i was through my local kmart to find that they already have action figures already out in stores now. And it is weird that it isn't coming out for the xbox or ps3. Anyways I have high hopes for the movie.

I would love the old arcade game or Turtles in Time as a pack-in with this. Not the original NES game though. I hated that game, because it was too hard.

I'd totally get the Simpsons one. And no one can mock the Ultra NES game. That thing ruled. If you didn't like it, it was just because you weren't good enough to win.

Donatello, FTW...

Dude, i totally had the tape of the musical. That shit. Wasn't it called something like "Coming out of our shells"? I can't fully remember but I fucking LOVE the turtles, hopefully this game won't suck like the last one they make. I can't wait for the movie to come out.

I also had the tape. I watched it over and over. That takes me wayyy back. Next time I'm home, I'm totally going to try to find it.

Also, the comics were awesome. As were the 4-player arcade games (Simpsons and X-Men included). So was every NES TMNT game after the first one. And the Sega games, including the fighter.

... I fucking love TMNT.

I'm with both of you guys, I had every possible thing that was related to TMNT as a kid. I even begged my mom to buy that microwavable pizza just because it had fucking ninja turtles on the box of it. I was hardcore man.

"Coming out of our Shells!" I went to the concert twice when it came thru town. I still have the t-shirt my Dad bought me that day plus my official TMNT fan club kit still in it's wrapper. I can still hear the Ya Kid K rap song from the soundtrack in my head right now.

The Turtles fucking rule, and hopefully this new movie will be enough to make up for the god-awful third film. As for the game, we'll see. Turtles games have been hit and miss, aside from the side-scrolling acrade games.

Damn that arcade was so much fun. Actually all the 4 players beat'em ups ruled back than, The Simpsons, that Xmen game. Oddly when I play Meme those are exactly the games that get me bored in a few minutes while I can easily can do an hour of playing Super Pang.

@ namelessted : Coming out of our shells was retarded.

Im in my office right now with a November issue of a comic called Raphel, dated Nov, 1985. The cover has Raph and Casey Jones on the roof tops and holding uzi's, those are my turtles.

Movie looks lame, but Im a fan , so I'll go see it.

Didn't they already include TMNT: The Arcade Game in the last craptacular Konami game based on the recent cartoon?

The graphics on the Xbox360/PS3 versions of the game look horrible! They seriously look EXACTLY like these screens except maybe with higher texture resolution. I'm not exaggerating at all. I hope websites have been accidentally showing the PS2 screens in place of the next gen ones. The movie does look slightly entertaining though and I plan on seeing it.

Also, I totally had the "Coming Out of our Shell" tape and loved it. I also loved my Ninja Turtle pajamas and roller skates.
