One of the weirdest announcements in recent memory was a crossover title involving Pokemon and Nobunanaga's Ambition. As soon as the announcement hit, all I could think about was the awesome potential of a Dynasty Warriors crossover. Seems I wasn't alone!
Tecmo Koei had originally pitched Pokemon Warriors instead of Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition. Unfortunately, the idea of Nintendo's cuddly monsters wielding ancient weaponry did not sit well with the license holders, so a less violent mashup was suggested by Tsunekazu Ishihara.
That's a real shame, because I think Pokemon Warriors could quite possibly be the greatest game ever made. I'm sure it could be done without weapons too (they managed it with Ken's Rage). Come on Nintendo, this is where ALL the money is!

I want a more unique crossover concept and I like tactics games, so NA+Pokemon works better for me. :)
And I don't think it was just about the pokemon having weapons, but the human characters having weapons too,
If this ever did happen, then it would be DW characters using pokemon as weapons, which fits into the srpg mold better anyway.
Oh well. If nothing else, I can still hold out hope for a Dragonball Warriors game.

Rumble was made by Ambrella, and those guys could make a good Pokemon spin-off if their life depended on it.
Personally, I still want a 2D fighting game with Pokemon.

I'd buy 25 copies and make it rain up in hurr.
I'll be waiting for my Pokemon/Tony Hawk's Pro Skater crossover.
That decision may have cost them literal millions of dollahs.
If only that Pokemon Rumble game was any good...
