Okay, this may be one of the best teaser trailers I have ever seen for a video game. Who knew that French people could be so clever?
With all the complaining I did yesterday about minigame collections on the Wii, I have to admit, the first Rayman Raving Rabbids for the Wii was pretty quality. All the games kept me entertained and, most importantly, they were genuinely funny. Seriously, try not to at least chuckle after having to slap a schoolboy rabbid in the face with your Wiimote. Like old people falling down on America’s Funniest Home Videos, it’s always funny.
Based on this trailer, the same kind of sick humor seems to be continuing in Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, coming out by the end of this year for only the Wii and Nintendo DS (the original game was weirdly released on PlayStation 2 and Xbox360 as well). While I do miss the traditional Rayman platformers (ah, Rayman 2: The Great Escape, thanks for the memories), passing the time with these hilariously cute rabbids is definitely fine by me.
Hit the jump for a couple of first screens, including one that looks to poke fun at the (countless) obnoxious people that talk on their cell phones in a movie theater. That alone makes me love this game already.

i think the rabbids would do good in a wacky RTS, like starcraft, but with rabbids. Or pikmin, with rabbids. or maybe a turn-based japanese style rpg? or more rythm action games? Hell, the rabbids belong in EVERY GAME!
I still remember the first time I played the choir minigame I was with a large group of friends and we were all laughing hysterically and on the ground after finishing that game.
I loved the first game (now one of my all time favorites), the teaser is made of win, and I'm sure the sequel will be awesome. Can't wait until this is released.
Unfortunately, DS-owners never got to experience the glory that is Raving Rabbids... the developers decided to make it a platformer while keeping the same name. It was very disappointing.
Let's hope the developers get it right on the DS this time.
Also forgot to add that this game made several people I know go out and buy a Wii, people who weren't really gamers and hardcore gamers. I'm thinking a sequel will sell even more consoles.
I thought the first one was funny, but hopefully they add some longevity and depth to the game. Also, removing that bug that keeps you from getting all the points needed for bonuses would be good too.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Anyway, never got round to playing the original, but on the strength of that trailer alone, I want Rabbids!
Hopefully, this won't be as frequent as Mario Party. That series is just damn annoying.

I totally agree with you. The first "Rabbids" was a great, wholly original game ... hopefully this sequel will be just as charming.
(plz no flaems for not owning a wii, kthx).
