Harmony of a Hunter? That shizz was hot, no doubt. Then again, when is a Metroid arrangement album not fantastic? Never, that's when.
A couple months ago, we teased a follow-up to Shinesparkers' musical Metroid tribute entitled Harmony of a Hunter: 101% Run, a two-disc compilation that covers tracks that didn't get proper love the first time around. The album is not quite ready, but you can enjoy this fresh new teaser, featuring tracks such as "The Tunnel" from Metroid II and "Torvus Bog" from Metroid Prime 2. Oh, and let's not forget the medley contributed by Martin Leung, the Video Game Pianist!
You can follow development of the project on its Facebook page, where you can undoubtedly piss and moan that free music is taking too damn long to make and that you need it yesterday. Because I deserve nice things, and you guys won't let me have nice things!
I really liked the first Harmony of a Hunter collection, so I can't wait to hear the finished product. That said, the header artwork is a very unattractive rendition of Samus. :(
Not really a fan of HotH for that reason. I'll check this out but in the meantime I'll stick with my Metroid Metal, thanks."
Out of the 40+ original HoaH that have been put up for free download (in the case of 101% Run, showcased in previews), only one track - Ashes to Ashes - has an obvious hint of dubstep. The rest are from artists who do metal (VikingGuitar, Stemage, Chernabogue, Vomitron, etc...), orchestral (Sam Dillard, George R. Powell, Theophany, me, etc...), piano (Pyro Paper Planes, Mercury Adept, Martin Leung, etc...), guitar (Sebastian Mårtensson, etc...), and then there are all sorts of other electronic tracks to suit everyone's tastes, like techno, trance, drum'n'bass and chiptune tracks, and even hybrids of genres. A dubstep album is one thing that HoaH is not. Just sayin' :P.
Hey Scotty! Harmony of a Hunter was a diverse range of genres, the fact that you could call it a dubstep album is rather strange. How much of the original album did you actually listen to? Considering there was only one dubstep track out of 36, i'm very surprised. Can you please tell us which was the first track you heard?
I love how you like Metroid Metal too, considering they were on the album also, they must also be classed as dubstep, i'll be sure to let them know!
In a sectioned off outer space section of E3, I bumped into none other than Samus Aran. She was keeping it really, doing whatever, and having a pretty good time. I figured she'd feel left out, what with Nintendo ignoring her...

If you have a Wii U, run, don't walk to your GamePad and pick up Super Metroid on the eShop for $0.30 -- it should be live later today, unless Nintendo delayed it until the eShop update tomorrow. A timeless classic, Super Met...
Recently, Club Nintendo offered up Super Metroid for 150 coins -- a modest offering, right? There's only one problem: the game was set to go on sale for $0.30 on May 15th. As a result, Nintendo is offering up a 150 Coin refun...
