Quantcast

Those with fond memories of Amiga-based alien killing have something to look forward to this year. Team17, the folks responsible for the run-and-gun action title Alien Breed, is bringing the series into the "next generation."

Called Alien Breed Evolution, the title will be a remake of the 1991 title, designed for Xbox LIVE Arcade. Not much is known about the remake yet, but we do know it utilizes Uneal Engine 3 and is said to set a new standard for production quality in XBLA titles.

It sounds fancy, and we can't wait to get a look at the game when Team17 officially reveals it at GDC this month.

The original game, had some nice top down gameplay, I hope the remake isn't 1st or 3rd person.

Oh boy! This is the best gaming news ever this week! Online co-op would make it tremendous.

I'm a little skeptical about the 3D but so long as they keep it top-down (like Alien Swarm), I'm in.

Sweet. Original was cool, but Alien Breed - Tower Assault, man that game was great.

Great news, I feel like my dream of a wiiware remake of Cannon Fodder is slightly more possible.

They need co-op for this. I'm really looking forward to it... hopefully they don't rape my wallet with a large price though.

Color me interested. I just hope that it's no more than $10.

Strange I don't remember that intro. The style seems out of place with the rest of the game.
