Team Ninja to Xbox 360 fans: no Sigma in your future photo

It looks like any hopes Xbox 360 owners may have regarding seeing Ninja Gaiden Sigma ported over from the PlayStation 3 have but all been dashed. Talking with Japan's Famitsu Xbox 360, Tomonobu Itagaki had this to say about the whole deal:

"We're getting requests to port Sigma to the Xbox 360, but we currently have no such plans. But no worries, 360 owners! Team Ninja is still supporting your platform. We're taking new challenges on the Nintendo DS, and the same is true for the Xbox 360. In order to respond to our fans' expectations, we're always making sequels and new games."

Since Xbox fans were already treated to Ninja Gaiden Black, and PlayStation 2 owners were left out in the cold last time, Itagaki has no qualms about his decision. Before you get all hateful, and decide to storm the gates of Team Ninja, I'd do a double-take on the last sentence in the first quote. That alone says a lot.

So I ask the Xbox 360 owners who were hoping to get away with not buying a PS3 due to the fact that most of the games seem to be Microsoft bound anyway -- does this even matter?

Eh, all I'll say is that any third party not releasing games on both platforms is willingly and happily kissing money goodbye, and that's just dumb. Still, it's their choice, and while I was interested in this, given the infamy of the last one, I really don't need games that are difficult just for the sake of it.

Good coup for PS3 though, it needed something.

I would choose having it over not having it, but being forced to go without doesn't really phase me. Not like it's something new, it's just more Ninja Gaiden.

This doesn't bother me, because I'm stupid and broke enough to own both a PlayStation 3 and a 360.

I'd also be stupid enough to purchase Sigma for the 360 after having bought it for the PS3, just to get the achievements ... so thanks for saving me $60, Team Ninja.

Sigma is going to suck anyway just because it's on PS3 the worst system ever made

I love NG as much as the next guy, but I certainly don't feel any hard feelings over this. The PS3 is looking less attractive all the time.

If it was $400, would it look more attractive?

$400 and some nice games that I won't already find on the Xbox 360? Yes, it would.

Who cares it was a great game but the demo I downloaded on my PS3 did not look improved enough for another purchase. They just added a few more polys and shined things up a bit.

I will be happy when the NG2 launches on the 360. Let the cows have their old game, not like there is anything else to play on it.

I can't believe the hype surrounding sigma. And this from the PS3 fanboys who call everything released for the Wii a GC port.

In fact, the guys at techmo (According to Game Informer) seem to think that because it's gotten a new playable character and graphical updates, that it's not really the same game anymore.

Is the first boss still the last boss without the dark dragon blade? Yeah, probably. Am I going to follow the same path as Ryu did in Black? Yeah, probably. So if I'm one of the gamers that after spending all of the last console generation under a rock, not playing Black, this is going to be an all new experience?

Sweet.

Guys, PS3 is getting Ninja Gaiden Sigma.. ( a remake of black for next gen consoles)

Xbox 360 is getting: NINJA GAIDEN 2

Itagaki "mentioned it" again a few months ago in EGM... Just be patient.

Oh yeah, first dibs to the NEW ninja gaiden game rather than the bullshit port of a game that came out three years ago is dooming the console to death? You're a moron, Mage.
