Yeah, this is a total case of "he said/she said" but I'm siding more with Zen Studios, because other companies (including Twisted Pixel) have spoken out on how cool MS treated them. Granted, TP has most of their work on XBLA, but Zen is a third party, so it's interesting to see some comments from a dev who worked with both companies.

This is just silly. If Team Meat was treated so badly by Microsoft, they just shouldn't work with them again. There's no point in bitching out another company that's just speaking out in defense and sharing a different experience.
I sure hope Rock of Ages did okay on XBLA, because that game is great. Glad it's coming to all platforms (except the Wii. heh, yeah....)

It was pretty ugly to watch but I can imagine that Team Meat didn't have the best support. With only two people, I'm sure they had a lot of pressure on them.

I'm actually with Jim on this one. I've heard similar stories of developers having issues with Microsoft (especially along the XBLIG scene). And there was that whole bit recently about not wanting games that didn't come to 360 first.
Maybe its just a game of playing favorites from ol MS. From my experience (almost did black box testing for MS) they were a dick to deal with but people still do so who knows?

I don't who is right, of if they both just simply had different circumstances, but I will say that Team Meat talks WAY too much, and has complained about pretty much everyone and everything. If they aren't taking shots at Microsoft, then they're taking shots at Nintendo. Even their statement that Sony "didn't want Super Meat Boy" did not sound very plausible.
Actually, speaking of Sony, what was the shot at PSN all about? How did that have to do with anything Team Meat said, considering their game isn't even on PSN? All that did was make the guy at Zen sound like a Microsoft fanboy.

Just look at their Twitter profiles. Team Meat is excessively rude and abrasive towards Zen, while Zen maintains a calm and collected attitude throughout the whole thing (even though they technically instigated the problem). Now sit back for a second. Why do you think Team Meat had a terrible experience with Microsoft and Zen didn't? Maybe because Team Meat is rude and immature and Zen is professional. Maybe they both have those same attitudes towards Microsoft in communications. Problem solved.

I'm a game developer and I call fowl, Team Meats on the right side of the argument, Microsoft is General Palpatine and Zen Studios is Darth Vader, once the enemy now the allie.
If this whole thing leads to a Super Meat Boy pinball table in Pinball FX 2, it will have all been worth it.

I'll generally take Team Meat here, but the language they used was just incredibly immature. It makes it harder than it should be to trust them.
Not siding with anyone here, but to anyone who says Zen's games are crap should NOT be including its pinball titles in that. They're spectacular, despite being "just pinball." FX 2 may be one of my most played XBLA titles.
I like honest exchanges like this. Why do some of you guys want stuffy professionalism? Comic writers have a an even longer history of saying fucked up shit in public. Some comic execs do it to. There are so many other industries out there that have to sugar coat things and make everything family friendly, why try and force that yoke on the industries that have no reason to worry about shit like this. Reminds me of why I rather go to small shops that don't give a fuck as opposed to large stores. When everyone is gagged by a code of conduct, I pretty much have to assume that everyone is full of shit and feeding me a company line.

I think both sides look like shit. Team Meat shouldn't have blown up so badly and Zen shouldn't have specifically called them out in a press release.
After the statements Microsoft has made about their publishing restrictions recently,I tend to believe what Team Meat has to say.

I'm with Lahari Krichevskoy on this one. The stab at Sony seemed a little uncalled for. Sony had nothing to do with the conversation up to that point so I can't really see why kicking them over being hacked is relevant. Especially when Zen Pinball was a promoted game during the very first month of PS+, if I remember correctly.
