Team Ico looking for help with new PS3 title photo

This morning, a tip came flying into the Dtoid offices with all the fury of a blazing shard of space junk. It was titled " NEW SCREENSHOT FROM ICO 3 OMG !!1111!!!" (or maybe that's how my mind translated what I read. Actually, that makes a lot more sense. At any rate, the "new" screen is above, which I can't confirm or deny as a new Ico 3 screenshot.

What I can tell you, however, is that Team Ico is seeking assistance for a new project they are working on for the PS3. Frankly, that's more exciting news to me than any screenshot. More rumors abound on the Team Ico Gamers website about Sony having over "20 secret projects" and Team Ico being responsible for two of them, but once again the source is simply not solid.

I had a shocking revelation as I typed the above: I realized that Team Ico could announce a cell phone game and I would download it without hesitation. The idea of them working with the power of the PS3 is a true thrill. More on this as it develops, but for now I think a replay of Shadow of the Colossus is in order.

I want to somehow type how good Shadow of the Colossus is, but I can't.

A sequel or remake for it on the PS3...I would buy it at a high price.

This is bittersweet news- sweet that they are making a sequel on the PS3, and bitter because I'd have to buy a PS3 to play it!!

OH MY GOD YES!

Also, I saw that image and instantly thought of Pan’s Labyrinth (an awesome movie, by the way) — you know, the scene where Ofelia first goes down and meets the Faun? Maybe I’m crazy.

@Colette: Alright, cool...I just needed one person’s agreement to feel validated (and sane), but hearing that you were thinking exactly the same thing is even more comforting.

Now THIS is a PS3 title I can get really excited about! They made my two favorite PS2 games, after all. It's good to hear they're working on the PS3 project, not that it's at all surprising.

What's a Shadow of Colossus? I lost touch with my PS2 a while back so I know i've missed a few gems. Only just got God of War. Nuff said. Ico is nice too I presume?

Oh Midknight......go to a store and get Shadow of the Colossus. It's 19.99 and truly worth it. If you don;t enjoy it, I'll punch myself in the face.

colette, if this is real then you just made my day.

also, punching yourself in the face isn't to effective. usually gotta get someone else to do it for you. (unless you have really long arms)

@Midknight: What’s a Shadow of Colossus?

Only one of the greatest video games ever made. It’s a Greatest Hits title, so Colette’s right — you can get it brand-spanking-new for twenty bucks anywhere. Also, it’s 350 Goozex points if you want to get it used.

@ceark: If you can’t reach your face with your fist, then you must have stumps for arms. If I tried to hit myself in the face as hard as I could, I’m pretty sure I could break my nose.

Heh, the only link I clicked there was the job posting. Since it's entirely Japanese I'll assume they'd never hire my English (with a little bit of French) ass. :(

@Butmac SoTC remastered for PS3 would be an instant system seller for me, especially considering how awesome the original was while stretching the PS2 so far.

WTF happened with ICO 2? 'Cause there was none last I played.
RJG's Avatar

B-Radicate: It was a prequel called Shadow of the Colossus. Get with the times.

In other news, this game could be the reason I get a PS3. I couldn't give a shit about Ed Wood's Metal Gear Solid 4, but some hot ICO action would make my happy place hurt for not having it.

->Necros: You suck as a being. Play them or kill yourself, those are your only options for redemption.

This is the one game that is absolutely certain to make me shell out for a PS3, more than uncharted, MGS4 and FFXIII combined. Do want.
