The kill tally updated again last night -- you'll be glad to hear the soldiers are still ahead. We've managed to expand our lead to a 126,167 kill advantage, but I have a feeling it's going to be neck-and-neck all the way to the finish. Since it's the weekend, I expect we'll see a lot more play, and it's possible the numbers will look totally different by Monday.
To spice things up a bit, Valve's announced a contest. Even if you can't support the troops from the front lines, you can do still it from home by creating a propaganda poster for your favorite class. The winner will get a special one-of-a-kind item named after them for in game use, runners up will get items and tee-shirts, and, even if you don't place, if Gabe Newell likes your poster enough he'll award kill points to your side on a whim. Hmm...sounds kind of fishy...
You have until Wednesday to get your submissions in. If you aren't artistic (like me), you can instead enjoy the Soldier and Demoman sprays Valve created so you can show which side you support.

Maybe it's all a phallic obsession and more people are just compensating with that big ol' rocket launcher. And maybe, just maybe, some of us are happy working with a shorter, stubbier grenade launcher. It gets the job done well enough! Who told you it doesnt? I took care of six at once with it last night, I did!
Rockets are much easier to airblast than grenades!

That said, I'm not too surprised. From what I've seen on other forums. This event has given a LOT of players their chance to vent their Demoman hatred. Add to the fact that he's black and a foreigner and you almost have a textbook case of Tv Tropes Unfortunate Implications. :P
