The first day's kill totals are out, and as you can see above, the soldier is currently ahead by 99,209 kills. GOOD JOB MEN. Overall, there have been 2,681,005 kills between these two classes ALONE in the last 16 hours.
Every server I played on last night was filled with soldiers and demomen going at it. Lots of fun, although I understand the pain of people who just want to get in and play a regular game without eating 8 rockets to the face at once. Oh well, only a week left. There's always servers with class limits, right?
No other announcements yet -- I imagine the normal weapon and map reveals will start on Monday.
To my soldier brethren: keep fighting the good fight.

If you're any class other than soldier or demoman, your kills don't count. If you're a solider or a demoman and kill any class besides your rival, those kills don't count.

The Soldier have a pretty big advantage on this war. It's pretty obvious that he is gonna win. But I get the feeling something else will happen...
It won't hurt the game in the long run, and this chaos is just insane and fun and Valve should not have released this during my exams...
I'll play more today. It is alot closer than I thought.

I gotta say, I was playing earlier, and it was sad to see the few people stubborn enough to play as Engies getting their sentries blown to pieces by all the Demo spamming.
Demo is waaaay better.

I'm not hating on the demoman in a traditional sense. I will play the class if needed but I still don't like it. I mean, if every class has an ability to plant a bunch of bullets in a location and explode them at will they would probably win too.

Ah well, I guess I'll have to start playing as Demoman then. I always get insulted because I kill too many people as Demo but it seems it may be necessary.
@ Rosseh: Maybe, but considering the regular amount of crit rockets that the soldier gets, they balance each other out.
