Team Fortress 2 received an update on Monday and some hidden sound files were unearthed to reveal a potential new mode coming to the game. The sound files has the Announcer referring to the Team Fortress warriors seemingly friending one another in order to take down the Announcer in the new game type.
Blue and Red coming together for the common good?! Unheard of! Whatever this new game mode could be, it sounds pretty exciting ... if it actually comes out. We can't say for sure until Valve spills the beans on what this is all about.
So who's excited at the possibilities of this new mode?
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Sounds AWESOME! In a way it tells us more about the TF2 story
Maybe Left 4 Friends-inspired?
Also, you might want to double-check the spelling of the title a bit. :) It's okay though, I'd be too excited to spellcheck anything if I was posting news like this.
Woah... no idea what this could be. TF2 Campaign mode? Super Co-Op against the zombie hordes? Fight against a Giant Announcer? Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be awesome!
Devin: That's because it's the same voice actress. Ellen McClain is not only GlaDOS and the TF2 announcer, but also the voice of the Overwatch command in Half Life 2 and its expansions.
Seems a little fishy to me. It's sounds like a story element. Like the players forget the rules of the game and fight what seperates them. Almost like Portal how the protagonist escapes the puzzles and frees herself from the complex.
I dunno Valve should know very well by now of people looking at their code for tidbits like this. Wouldn't be surprised if it was put there on purpose for people to find and speculate about it. Either it's a joke by them or a sign of some core changes.
I AM FUCKING EXCITED! FUCK YEAH! Oh wait... it's not a gamemode, b-b-but. Fine, I'll just accept that these sounds play whenever you do stuff with your friends over steam.
I just hope they announce some L4D2 DLC deliciousness at the same time. I could definitely go for some of that. I just wish it was March already so I could buy my new computer already.

I'd definately like to se this in action!
I'm always up for new TF2 stuff!
Holy shit, it would be rad if she catches them talking each other in the user chat.

Can't wait to see what it is.
It's interesting to think there's some kind of story in TF2
these sounds are brilliant! I especially like the 'Listen to your conscience!" :-)
A enemy Spy and a crazy Engineer team up for an wacky adventure!
Although, I wonder... what does the Announcer have against friends?
Exchanging enemy information on the user chat? Team talk is used for a reason.
But the number of clips in it is still kind of strange, especially the countdown ones.
I'm thinking this could be a mode like Betrayal in UT3. I know Gabe's a fan of UT3.
