It's not as badass as shark week, but sniper week is pretty rad as far as I'm concerned. Valve has sent out word that the Team Fortress 2 Sniper update is coming soon, and has proceeded to kick off the festivities by detailing the first in-game addition, The Huntsman.
The Huntsman is a longbow, in case you saw the picture above but didn't know what longbows looked like. Pulling off a headshot with this bad boy results in an instant crit, and apparently if you hit your target and they don't keel over, the arrow(s) will still stay attached to their body.
It should also be mentioned that the bow comes with 18 arrows and has a one-second charge for full power shots. Gnarly. I'm super excited to see what's next.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:

If the arrows fly at an arch, how effective will it be at long range?
The the stuck arrows do damage over time?
Can you really stick other players onto walls?
Will there be an amazingly gory animation when you get a headshot and will the arrow be sticking out of their face?

I suppose this means you don't have to charge the shots for the bow and you'll still get a crit.

TOTALLY related.
Because if an enemy is at lower health than usual and a regular bodyshot doesn't kill them, the critical gets the extra damage in.
Now, a charged rifle shot does 450 damage, more than enough to kill ANYTHING (even overhealed heavies), will this have the same damage specs? Also I heard it isn't a hitscan weapon (a weapon that instantly hits a target and a trigger's press).

Also I'm kind of interested because I only play Sniper to dick around, and this sounds like it would be great towards those ends. I've gotten great at annoying the hell out of people with the Sandman when I'm bored now.
