Team Fortress 2 Heavy statues are now up for pre-order photo

Now that Gaming Heads' gorgeous Team Fortress 2 Heavy statues are available for pre-order, it's time to pick your side: RED or BLU. Although, that's going to be tricky for a few reasons.

First off, these guys remind us that you pay what you get for. A standard RED or BLU Heavy will cost you $229.99, while the exclusive versions are set at $244.99 each. Basically, many of us will never be able to comfortably afford these. Don't let anyone else see you cry!

The other setback worth mentioning is how the Gaming Heads website is only half alive. Many a Team Fortress 2 fan wanted to get a glimpse at these figures, it looks like; poor servers never stood a chance. If you manage to send an order through, expect to get your package during the fourth quarter of this year.

They look awesome, but they're sadly out of my price range. :(

What's the difference between the standard one and the exclusive one?

It looks like the exclusive one comes with the Natascha gun instead of the normal minigun.

Oy.. I love TF2, but buying this is basically using a whole month of discretionary spend on one thing. I really wish they had been more up front with the price range on this.

That statue fails because the Heavy's mouth isn't agape with a smile. Lame.

Corduroy Turtle makes a good point.

Exclusive has an interchangable head (screaming/serious) and it comes with an attachment to change from Sascha to Natasha.

750 per color for regular.
300 per color for exclusive.

Yes, the toilet. Where every single man keeps their finest $300+ investments.

Nothing ensures staying single forever like a figurine.

I'm not trolling, I am being serious: Why do people like video-game statues, especially ones that are more expensive than the games themselves? I just don't understand - isn't the best part about them interacting with them in the game itself? What's the motivating factor for those of you who are drooling over this?

I believe it is the simple deal of having a collectible based on something we really like. i mean, if Valve released a series of figures cheaper and simpler like Batman action figures, they would sell like pancakes too.

@sky: You ever see Toy Story? Imagine that...with TF2 figures. REAL LIFE TF2 (toys acting out TF2 events IN REAL LIFE (behind our backs where we can't see))!

There's that interpretation at least. =P

@sky4

Detail of the game=/=detail of a figure.

Plus it's just fun to own...If you've ever bought any sort of entertainment-geared paraphernalia, it's kind of the same idea. You want it because it's part of the game outside the game.

Or, if you like...Me want cuz that mean Mr. Heavy is outside noisy electronic window.
