Yes, that's Batsu from Rival Schools at 40 seconds in. I know, I'm jealous too. Due out in Japan this Thursday, Capcom has unveiled the above opening movie for its much-awaited Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, AKA: the game that liberated me from having to give a sh*t about Street Fighter IV. Take a good look, because sadly, it's the only way many of us will ever see it. Damn shame.
Every moment of this thing strikes the same sweet chord as when Capcom's fighting all-stars took on SNK or Marvel, and that opens a mixed bag of feelings. As much as I'd love to see Ken and Ryu from Street Fighter take on Ken and Ryu from Gatchaman, there are just too many copyright tangles for this one to ever make its way to our shores without the sneaky import song-and-dance. But hey, we can still enjoy the video, right? Sure we can.
I actually watched this for the first time a little earlier today. Shit's awesome. Also, it leaked in Japan, and 4chan was saying some stuff about Edward Falcon being an unlockable character, among other things. Sadly, there were no pics to prove it, but we'll all know soon enough.
I'm planning on getting it one way or another this week and as soon as I get it, I'm doing a live stream in my mogulus channel. (though it'll sadly be webcammed rather than video streamed--but the audio will be streamed :D )
I might have to get that tatsunoko-crack (<-- Mahvel heads would get it) imported and do some modification to my wii. Wasn't too excited for this but now its looking pleasing besides Golden Lightan beating everyone's ass.
I was laughing so hard when the dude from Gatchaman was hovering right above Ryu. Thats like the last place you want to be..gonna get a shoryuken right in your teeth.
Wait where is Dante? please tell me Capcom stuck him in this game? also, Viewtiful Joe needs to be in this as well. if they're both in it, I may think about importing a copy. still, looks awesome.
Dante isn't in this but Viewtiful Joe is. The roster is actually quite small and there's so many more people they could have put in it. No Samurai Pizza Cats :(

Hell, there's a 7-minute video out that shows you a bunch of the characters, a bunch of fighting techs and whatnot, and a bunch of the Wii version's minigames. Now STFUAJPG.

The worst thing is I don't have $100 to spend on importing this right now. Damn economic depression, exchange rates blow. I will definitely pick this up at some point unless capcom adapt it into marvel vs capcom 3 or something equally as awesome. BERSERK BARRAGE!
The shot of Morrigan and Doronjo staring each other down is enough to get me giddy all by itself. A shame this will almost certainly never be localized...footage of it has looked pretty darn good to me.

I guess the "Freeloader + import game" is the most affordable option for me.
