This weekend, we ran a rumor that Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (the game that we all knew was coming to the US) might actually come to the US. Today, Capcom has confirmed via its Twitter account that the gossip has been made flesh, with the announcement due to be made at E3.
Capcom has stated that the "cat is out of the bag," confirming the Nintendo Power scan that has been floating around online and stating that TvC was Capcom's Mystery Game #1. Not so much a mystery now, but I think it would be nice for everyone at E3 to pretend it's a brand-new announcement when they mention it. I think Capcom deserves a little patronization after all the good it's done for us.
Capcom Unity hasn't shut up about TvC for weeks, so the announcement has always been a case of "when" and not "if." Now fans can beat themselves off into a frothy frenzy in rampant celebration of the news. Hopefully you'll be able to indulge in your anime-flavored violence this year, although we'll have to wait and see what the official release date is.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Anyways, they better give us an XBLA/PSN release, I sold my Wii yesterday.
But yay for stateside, now it will be interesting to see if it gets a PAL launch.
Theyve made or assisted in making quite a few shows that even US viewers would recognize, including Gatchaman (G-Force here), NGE, Samurai Pizza Cats, SuperBook, The Flying House, production credits on Macross and Macross DYRL, Tekkaman Blade (Teknoman in the US), Mach Go Go Go (Speed Racer), SoulTaker, etc.
Capcom is one of the few companies that I actually trust will give us PALers some acknowledgement and give us the same product on the same date as the rest of the world - or in this case the US - gets, but you can never be too sure.
I kinda wish this would've been saved for E3, though. I would've been fucking blown out of my fucking chair out of excitement as that would've been one of those "OH MAH FUCKEN GAWD" announcements for me. here's hoping that there's at least one more of those... don't let me down now, Nintendo. :/
It's a Wii exclusive. So it was in Japan, so it will be in the west. Why is it a stupid thing for a good game to be an exclusive to the best selling console of this generation?
Capcom just earned a lifetime supply of goodwill for this, I don't even want to know how many licence holders they had to satisfy to get this released.
Just buy a freaking Wii.
I'm not sure what am i gonna do with my Japanesse copy... i think that whenever they announce the street day of the localized version i'll have to sell this one...
ouch, that wasnt very nice sir. :P im taking you off my friendslist :P
Cool that it's coming here, though... but meh.
Can't wait until E3 to findout
Also they used a lame version of Mega Man...
Also, Mega Man Volnutt is awesome shut your whore mouth!
I haven't touched the Wii since I stopped playing Smash Bros.
Guess I wont be selling it after all.
Anyways, I don't expect a big, successful release of this, but there's enough support for a new capcom crossover that we'll see some decent popularity. Notoriety, at least, considering they have a couple characters who are bigger than all the normal-sized characters combined.
